Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I have no real feeling on the Rangers actions today. I get that they were in on Nash until the end, which probably hurt the possibility of making other deals, but I wish they'd known earlier something wasn't going to happen with Columbus and then go after a few small pieces. From what I read today, Scott isn't the kind of guy that's going to be on a playoff roster here so they basically didn't change +/- .
That said go rangers! Gotta beat the devs. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Not their best period but a good result so far. Nice to see Hagelin getting comfortae in front of the net. Haven't seen a lot of that from him this year.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
There should be some fireworks in the 2nd. Tortorella was pissed when the ref made him take Rupp off the ice and then Boulton skated right off when Rupp came on.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Yeah I wanted to see Rupper fight that guy, this is going to be a rough game...seems like its hit or be hit. Great to see Hags score a goal, he is playing with a lot of confidence.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
These refs have botched the whole second period.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
These refs are trying to take the game over. Let em go at it. If they just let the guys drop the gloves there wouldn't be so much shit going on everytime there's a stoppage.

Rangers :lol
Seriously, what were they thinking giving up ANYTHING for John Scott. Bowman is a genius for pulling this off. What are the Rangers trying to do? Kill themselves? No one even fights Scott anymore, and that's all he is good for. I LOVE it when he fights, and he is a fantastic locker room guy, but he kills your team when he dresses. Bowman still fucked up though |

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
So want to go back to all this Nash stuff. So apparently Nash wanted a change in management (so Howson out) which can't really fault him for wanting that at all but ownership decided no which you can agree or disagree it's their right. I am of the thought that that it can set a dangerous precedent letting your star player dictate moves the management level. So then Nash went to Howson for a trade. Howson, whose idea this wasn't, wanted the best deal possible and wasn't going to ship him out just to get rid of him. I think he felt burned by Nash and also by the media who were questioning him why he would get rid of him. All I heard was why why why and I was one of them. I think he got tired of looking like the bag guy trading the franchise when he really didn't want to. And while Nash has the right to want new management and all of that but HE signed that 8 year deal the summer of 09. He could have waited he could have tried for a shorter deal. Everyone here is at fault. Ownership for probably not firing Howson earlier, Howson for not making good deals and Nash for signing that deal. I know there is the thought that well you gotta take the money while you can but he could have tried for a shorter one and be walking in a year or two. This is gonna get ugly.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
How Howson still has a job is beyond comprehension to me. If anyone can be trusted in this situation, it should be Nash because without Nash, Columbus is nothing. Fans don't care about management, generally. They are more than likely to take the side of their star player when he goes out and plays on a nightly basis. Why suddenly everyone is jumping on Nash I can't understand. He's been a faithful soldier since he was drafted by the Blue Jackets and as captain, he's frustrated. Ownership and management failed to rebuild this summer. Actually, the word "failed" doesn't even come close to how badly they screwed this up. Nash had every right to ask for a trade because management failed him.

Actually if CBJ gets even close to what they want for Nash and get the #1 pick in June they could be sitting pretty good. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Well poop. Lidstrom is out tonight. Maybe the Jackets can win a game. Gonna be an interesting defensive lineup. Kronwall, White, Stuart, Kindl, Janik, Smith.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Have a feeling JVR is going to have a monster game tonight because he wasn't traded and it was the Sharks who were pursuing him.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I hope so, I am a huge fan of JVR

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Thonight might have been the turning game for the Caps. First time in a long time they came back from down 2 goals to win. Next 4 games at home as well. Don't be surprised to see Caps holding down the #3 seed after this homestand. BEAST MODE AT THE PHONEZ BOUTHZ!!1!!!!

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Preds came out flat tonight. Really hate playing games on consecutive nights - especially when one's at home and one's on the road. I feel like we win the game with Rinne in.

Stupid PHX-VAN 3-point games. With PHX getting the 2.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
3 point games are the worst. Carolina has 13 points from games they lost and only have 61 points.
They need to go to a 3-2-1 IMO. 3 for ROW 2 for SOW 1 for OTL/SOL |
