The only explanation is they used up all their success during their dynasty. Or there is so much pressure because of the dynasty that there is unrealistic expectations and the players play with too much pressure on their shoulders.

As a young kid I was an Oilers fan. Still have my jersey.:)

That was a really fun game to watch though - I do feel for you, been there trust me. It ended about 3am here so I took a PK after regulation and to be honest I don't have a clue when I actually fell asleep, I remember the end and that is it, then my alarm started blaring at 6am and I was thinking 'WHAT? Morning already, did I sleep, oh yeah, Oilers lost again' then the brain slowly started kicking in!

Cannot say I was a fan but I always loved when the Whalers played the Oilers so I could watch Gretzky and company. I have a few Gretzky shirts and jerseys and my favorite one (a Campbell Conference All Star jersey I got in Hartford 1986 - only All Star game I have attended in any sport) obviously doesn't fit well anymore! Still, I remember that game like it was yesterday, our seats were amazing and I got to see Bossy, Lemieux, Gretzky, Messier, Borque and company grind it out into OT! That was just plain heaven for a 8 year old obsessed with hockey and the Whalers in particular - despite my disappointment than Ronnie Francis wasn't in the game!

Not sure what is up with CAR, I figured they'd cruise by the Preds in 5 games and only because Saros could steal a win, the NSH O just is not that talented.

He is amazing and can carry his team to a win in the regular season but that contract is a cap hamstring. For the numbers he puts up it is worth it but makes it tougher to get good second liners so secondary scoring drops plus they are forced to settle for one good D pair, other 2 pairings are mediocre to mildly effective -Koskonin and Smith and solid but they are facing a lot of high danger chances so not much they can always do. McDavid is superhuman and I'd love to see the Hawks trade to shed salary and snag McDavid in a trade! :lol

Solid win by Montreal. They really got outplayed by a large margin in OT but Price stood on his head and one Toronto blunder in their zone was the only chance the Habs needed. Looking FWD to another game 7.

Bad take time. Playoff hockey kinda sucks, or can sometimes. Not the intensity or consequence part, but the game play due to officiating. The idea that refs “shouldn’t decide the game” means return of the clutch/grab/interference stuff they worked so hard to get rid of years ago. This is across the board, not whining about my team losing yet again, to be clear. Cant think of any of major sport where the rules basically change in the post season. I don’t spend much time watching games where I don’t care who really wins becasue of this.
