Someone noted on Facebook that the real winner in the Carter trade is the LA night-clubs.

Never imagined myself saying this, but kudos to Howson. CBJ definitely got the better end of the deal on that one.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
So let's recap
Flyers Get Brayden Schenn Wayne Simmons Jakub Voracek Sean Couturier (via 1st rounder from Col) Nick Cousins (via 3rd rounder from Col) Undisclosed Pick which I am too lazy to figure out what it is Kings Get Jeff Carter Mike Richards Blue Jackets Get Jack Johnson Conditional 1st Rounder I think this is a complete summary. Flyers won overall |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Don't look now, but the Winnipeg Jets are currently the third seed in the East.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
So relieved Sharks won tonight.. they've been sucking it up late and if play does not pick up, we might be looking at a 7 or 8 seed and that spells 1st round exit

Bruins and Stars have a deal in place that should be announced tomorrow. Possibly Ryder and Souray coming to Boston.

If Nash goes this franchise is close to done. I know I've said it 1000 times but the one market (outside of Minny of course) that I liked in the expansion of 98-2000. |

A guy with connections to the Bruins FO who is usually very reliable says Caron, Pouliot, and a 2013 2nd rounder to Dallas for Ryder and Souray should be announced tonight after the Stars game is over. Also says the Bruins are going after Dustin Brown very hard.

Getting a top d-man (one who's been hidden behind Drew Doughty) plus a first-rounder (conditional) is an astute trade for a struggling franchise. They couldn't have done much better. For the Kings, going forward, every move is calculated with the end goal of re-signing Johnny Quick. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
So if Brown goes, is Richards named captain of Los Angeles Flyers?
Matt, Kev, and JRS are going to have to move out West. |
