Meh, they make the first name much smaller. They look really nice IMO. Way better than that awkward phase of having the actual player on the banner and you couldn’t read who it was for a couple years.

Also great win last night. Get killed by the Rangers but beat a better Leafs team. Flyers are weird this year.

I generally agree that the Golden Knights is a silly name. Though someone pointed out to me that the name is a play on "Golden Nights," some lame ass reference to the Vegas nightlife. Doesn't make it any better.

Regardless, I'm enjoying their season. I hope they make a deep playoff run.

Not sure they wouldn't get sued for copyright infringement by an online casino game that has patented the name "Golden Nights" for an online casino game.

The Army is the Black Knights so I am not sure how Golden nights is a copyright issue to be honest unless they plan on using the similarity in logo's as opposed to the name.

Gerard Gallant will win the Jack Adams, and he should, frankly. No way should the Knights be as good as they are, and I think that’s a huge credit to him.

But I’ll be damned if Jared Bednar doesn’t deserve to at least be a finalist. The work he’s done with the Avs this season after the embarrassment of last year has simply been unbelievable.

The point of a trademark is to ensure there is no confusion between two brands or properties executing a similar good or service with the same name. No one is confusing Parachute teams and hockey.

Forgot about that you are entirely correct. That said, I rarely criticize the US Army but I think they are missing out on a golden (no pun intended) opportunity here. The owner of the Vegas Golden Knights is a West point graduate so I think he would be more than happy to work with the Army to help in PR. They should just reach out informally to him and try to work something out. That would be the smarter (and more beneficial) play for the Army.
