As much as I would like to see Chicago just beat Pittsburgh in regulation part of me would love to see a 3 on 3 OT with say Malkin/Crosby/Letang vs Toews/Kane/Keith starting the extra period. I always love these Hawks/Penguins matchups, such exciting hockey, more so since they only meet twice a year. Should be a great game. Seeing what Pittsburgh has accomplished in the past couple years and how they have carried themselves with so much class has put a damper on my lifelong hatred for the Pens - they did torment my Whalers for ages, which was where that hatred began! That is all gone now, new breed of Pens and no Whalers. I am surprised that Murray has never faced the Hawks though.

Wild/Detroit and Caps/Sens should be great games as well!

Gonna be another fun night!

Have a blast and be safe. I cannot wait to see the energy in there and compare it to how the Joe was. In preseason it looked like a great arena. I certainly plan on watching the first half of that game and likely the end if it is still on when the Hawks/Pens go to intermission. Gotta love the O 6 teams!!!!!!

Have fun tonight!! I had to make a tough call, but I decided to try for the Red Sox game instead (you know, playoffs and such)! As a result, the wife and I decided not to head up until tomorrow morning.

First NHL game of the season will now be a week from Saturday in Chicago for the Hawks v Preds game!

Eh with McDavid and Matthews I think they'd be ok with that. And TO is a massive market. The NHL doesn't really need the big markets or US really. Sure they'd prefer some certain things but they aren't the NBA in that regard. 2011 should have been crappy with Boston being the only US team and Vancouver not being TO or Mont. but ratings were good. 2007 ratings were awful but it was a boring match-up regardless where the teams were from.
Awesome. Have fun. Gonna be crazy for their first real game. Thankfully they've had a bunch of concerts to work at to get the kinks out...hopefully. Gotta imagine the first few were rough.

LOL. I did that about a week ago as the cold started to get better. I was like I'm tired...there is nothing on tv...alright lights out. None of my fall shows have started and no hockey yet and baseball playoffs hadn't started. That will change over the next week. Glad I'm not the only one feeling like this. I don't want to be like my mom who goes to bed early and then up at like 4.
