Damn, I know he will get no credit on the scoresheet but Maata set up that goal with one of the best plays I have seen this postseason. If Pittsburgh wins this game that single play will be remembered as the turning point of the game and possibly the series.

That really was an incredible play the kid made. Very happy for him to do that after going through a rough patch this post-season.

Agreed.

Also, no idea why the penalty was called on Johnson - Letang made absolutely no effort to avoid him and he had loads of time. Bullshit penalty IMO.

Yeah that was pretty weak.

Don't think Tampa hasn't gotten away with their fair share. It happens.

This game has showed some very poor officiating. Not to take anything from the Penguins or the Lightening but the officials should be doing a better job. Few seconds ago Kucherov took a high stick in the face and there was no call? WTF? Are they blind?

Yeah, they are both getting away with questionable plays but damn are the refs doing a rotten job for both teams.

This has been a poorly officiated game all around.

Nothing that has been as egregious as that trip or the high stick Kucherov just took. Obviously it's a part of the game. I didn't say we're losing because of the refs. But there's no way that shouldn't have been a 5-3. The officiating overall in this game has been lacking, Letang was tripped just a few minutes ago and there was no call.

Maybe, but Tampa got away with a trip right before Mattaa's high stick, so that sequence should never happened. It's like they aren't calling any tripping, hooking or interference on either team (except for weird hits like Johnson's). Don't know why or how they missed the Kucherov slash, but I am not coming to argue. :lol

Yeah, he deserves it, if TB doesn't tie this up he deserves a 'star' of the game even if he is not on the score sheet. Happy for the kid.

Re: The NHL Thread

Wow, hell of a game so far - happy it is going to OT. I thought that shot by Callahan had tied it up but the refs got it right for once. Then Kucherov ties it 30+ seconds later. Great game, be interesting see which team gets some extra step in their game and which is gassed. Damn, regardless of who wins this is one hell of a game.

That was a really great game. Great job fighting back throughout the game. Kucherov finally got it going in the goal column this series, hopefully that can continue in game 6. Good game pens

That was a quick end to the game in OT. Not even sure Johnson knew that goal went off him to end the game. Back against the wall for the Pens now.
