Was surprised at the little amount of Sharks fans. Probably still butt hurt and didn't want to see the celebrations. |

As for the Wings, they looked good. Had good energy and Howie looked good. Big E's turnover I didn't like since it lead to the goal but didn't lead to a loss so that's good. Howie's save with 30 seconds left was nice. Saw around the Soderberg screen. Also Brendan Smith looked good last night. Babs was high on him during the preseason and it appears with good reason....for now. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Hard not to see NY suffering from two key players missing for the early part of this season. Rough.
On the positive side of thing, NY looked solid last night in their win against the Blues! |
Re: The NHL Thread
Ollie Maatta is a monster, folks
|
Re: The NHL Thread
B's were dominated last night. looked very slow after the game the night before. I'll be happy if they start 4-3 in their first 7 games (in 12 days)

Re: The NHL Thread
CBJ totally dominated Buffalo last night.
Enroth looked good and CBJ hit 4, yes 4 posts in the first period which is the only thing that kept it from being 5 or 6 to 1. Hard to tell whether CBJ is good or Buffalo really is that bad. Tyler Myers to Wings rumors already starting :lol:lol |
Re: The NHL Thread
little bit of both, becs
|
Re: The NHL Thread
I will say that the rookies Wennberg and Dano looked fantastic. Wennberg in particular.
P excited to see what the top 9 looks like mid-season with Jenner and Dubinsky back. On another note, there are some rumors starting to float that Horton may be done for good. |

I can't tell you how fantastic I think it is that Chris Pronger is being named to the Department of Player Safety. Giggles.

Whether you like fighting in the NHL or not, the headline of this title is what makes it great: "Mike Milbury Says Fighting Should Go, So We Should Keep It." Quote:

Re: The NHL Thread
Captains update. Just saw Mitchell got it in FLA. Fantastic choice.
I also missed Gionta getting it in Buffalo a few days ago. |

Re: The NHL Thread
Just a quick note to all Hawks fans that wanted Pirri to be the savior at 2nd line center and thought it was dumb when we traded him -
He was a healthy scratch for the Panthers in their first game. The Panthers. He's not good enough to crack their lineup consistently. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Might be headed to Wings/Ducks tomorrow.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
For sure going. Lower bowl, half way up.

Until snow hits the ground and mountain biking season is over, hockey season hasn't started for me yet. But this is funny stuff, if you're goingto melt down after game one, at least take your phone out of your pocket. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2014/...?__federated=1 |
Re: The NHL Thread
Did the Islanders look good last night or did the Canes look bad?

Yup! It's very weird to be watching hockey when it's 70-90 degrees out, which is all winter here. Really makes me miss home, bundled in blankets and drinking a hot toddy. |
Have fun at the games tonight Chris and Tim!

Re: The NHL Thread
Sarah, I think I'm going to be in LA next weekend. Flying into SNA and staying in Long Beach.
