Well, here you go, Bonzo, Chris, and Marty:

For sure. In the words of Han Solo, "this better work."

I wonder if the relationship with Joe helped with the decision. Those two were magic in the olympics together.

If Wings want to compete in the East, like really compete, a trade needs to happen. If they are looking more towards the future, then fine. Don't sign a guy to sign a guy. Stralman has apparently signed in Tampa, interested to see what he got. Also takes them off the Nisk list too.

5 yrs/$20 mil for Stralman. Nice signing, and good for him. I'm a fan of him.

Typical Leafs. Make a bunch of retarded moves. Komarov for almost 3 million? fuck me. Trade Jerry D' who would have been an amazing forth liner for Matt Frattin again? Come on. Give me a break.

:lol I was actually just going to ask you what you thought of the Komarov signing. Guess I don't need to know.

Komarov is awesome. The guy is a stud in your bottom six. I'm happy to have him there. I am not even kind of happy at the price tag. Like fucking shit give me a break. I hate being a Leafs fan.

Re: The NHL Thread

Stralman deal is actually 22.5 so that's 4.5mil per.

HallowBillies7 07-01-2014 02:44 PM

Glad the Bruins showed restraint on Iggy. Another one year bonus laden contract would've made it impossible to resign Krejci

Brian Lawton saying Wings not shutout, working on a lefty so...Del Zotto or Jovo. Say no to Jovo and I'm not sure about Del Zotto. Maybe 2 years ago.

Do you think they move some bodies in the near future?

So weird for the Flyers to be doing nothing, but when you are handcuffed with shitty deals there is not much you can do

Del Zotto's stock has plummeted. The talent is still there, just not a situation that was working out. You have to wonder how he'd do in a new environment, especially a really positive one overseen by Babcock the Great.

Maybe but I dunno. Also TSN guys just ripped into Niskanen...like wow.

He really wants to stay. I guess we will figure out how bad he does soon.

Surprised? Hey former Hawks who want to get paid or are getting paid, go to Florida.

I thought the same thing. Interesting though, the actual HOCKEY PLAYERS and former PLAYERS all praise how good he is. It's the REPORTERS (guys who haven't played) who are taking digs at him. Always interesting how that works.

Niskanen has been placed in a great opportunity, to be sure. But he's also one of the most underrated all-around defensemen in the league.

Heard this too. Only thing I worry about - especially with Iggy signing - is how we'd take on the type of salary Niskanen will demand, while still re-signing O'Reilly and Barrie, who are both RFA. Maybe if they lock up Niskanen they let Barrie walk? That would be painful because Barrie is so young and has so much potential, but Niskanen is the better all-around guy.

Nick Kypreos ‏@RealKyper 3m
The delay with Niskanen is his steep asking price . Pales in comparison to #lightning deal for Stralman. Some #NHL teams priced out.

Kypreos is saying big money for Nisk too. This should be interesting.

Iggy on TSN, why did you chose Colorado? $16mil and I'm 37...you do the math.

Man, if this were 2004, I would be so stoked my Avs are getting Briere and Iginla. I know they needed some veteran leadership in the locker room, especially with Giguere hanging it up. Still. Risky planning.

I like adding Stuart, though. That's a nice move.

I could see McQuaid and Kelly being moved. Kelly needs to be moved IMO his contract is ridiculous for what he does. I hope they get some youngs kids in the lineup this year like Ryan Spooner.

Deryk Engelland to CGY. 3 year deal worth $2.9M.

To be clear, Engelland's AAV is $2.9M. That's per year.

Avs are out of it for Nisk. So who is left?
