Re: The NHL Thread
A steep price by the Hawks. I was like I don't know if I'd do that. But then I remembered that some guys will have yo be gone to free up cap space won't they? Gotta go for it while you can I guess.
Friedman said last night a playoff team in the East was making a push for Yandle. Bruins can't have the space, Caps don't need, NYR doesn't have the space, Isles have no need so that only leaves a few teams. TBL, Detroit or maybe the Pens? Habs are an outside possibility but don't see as much of a need there. Come on Ken Holland. |
Re: The NHL Thread
It would be nice if they would at least save some trades for tomorrow :lol

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun is saying the Wings are making a hard push for Yandle. So that could make today or tomorrow fun for me if that happens. Here is hoping.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Islanders have played 18 games in last 33 days. Man, that seems like a lot.
Apparently, we won't be making any moves because everyone is asking for 1 of our 4 top untouchable studs, all of whom should be either top 6 f or top 4 d. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Your stat made me think of what I read yesterday. Wings have played 17 out of their last 23 on the road and went 15-6-2 during that stretch. This fucking team. ;)

And yes, they'll have to clear some cap space still. Bickell is the most obvious first choice to go. |
Re: The NHL Thread
I will be staring at Twitter the next 26 hours. Sorry to my family. It's an addiction.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Glencross to Caps. Nice pickup that addresses a need.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Return on Glencross is a 2nd and a 3rd. I'm honestly not overly thrilled about it. He's fine I guess but he's not top line material, plus he's traditionally a left winger yes? Meh, whatever. I guess adding him can't hurt but it still doesn't fix the top line RW issue
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Honestly won't surprise me if they flip Glencross for something better. Just really not understanding why they added another bottom 9 LWer. We've got a bunch of those
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Giving up 2 picks this year seems like a lot for that people consider a top 9 guy.

I guess he'll improve the look of the 2nd line, which could use an upgrade
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Depth. Winning the Cup is all about depth. Reliable veteran that can do it all. Two way player, pretty universally loved by all his teammates and fans, etc.
Getting him without sacrificing anything on the current roster is a nice move if you're trying to win it all. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Yeah, that's a fair point. I mean I don't hate the pick up don't get me wrong. He'll definitely improve a shaky second line. Will allow Troy Brouwer to move into a bottom 6 role where he should be.
Lockman, heard anything more about Sharp? I've been hearing it sounds like he's gonna stay in CHI. Also heard DET might be in on him. Know anything I don't? |
Re: The NHL Thread
Watching Leafs/Kings game 7 from 93. The goalies gear is so small. Defensemen are bigger these days.

If Sharp isn't here in 48 hours, I would be completely and utterly SHOCKED. I don't see him moving. The Hawks can unload salary in a lot of other ways (Bickell, Shaw) without getting rid of someone that was talented enough to play on Team Canada last year and was an All Star MVP. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Yeah that's pretty much exactly what I figured would happen. Moving him really never made sense to me. Especially with Kane going down.
|
Re: The NHL Thread

It's possible Bowman was just testing the waters to see what Sharp would bring back in a trade, but I didn't think he'd be a piece they'd move until MAYBE this offseason...but even then, I think he's staying put. |

He'd be no good on a line with the great 8. |
Re: The NHL Thread
The rumor I kept hearing was Joel Ward and a pick. That's not anywhere close to enough for Sharp, I wouldn't think
|
Re: The NHL Thread
If they trade him, I could see him going at the draft. They could get a nice return on him if they choose to move him.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
kind of a classless avs team last night

Possible Yandle trade to NYR coming. Damn.

And a high end prospect and another 1st. If true Rangers giving up a lot of first rounders the last few years. Wings did it a lot but after they had won Cups and no cap. Big risk for Rangers.

Re: The NHL Thread
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 3m3 minutes ago
Awaiting details on Yandle to NYR trade (pending trade call) but ARI believed to be picking up 50 per cent of Yandle's money. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Girardi not going. Kypreos needs to not be such a moron and wait for confirmation.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
my heart is literally falling to pieces right now. Oh well, I honestly wasn't expecting the Avs to do too much at the deadline. Will look forward more towards the offseason. Maybe another look at Yandle then, depending on what NYR wants to do with him. Still on for a Yandle/ROR deal with NYR??? A guy can dream, right?

Duclair, Moore and a 1st for Yandle, plus Yotes retain 50% of Yandle's salary. 0 replies 141 retweets 16 favorites Reply Retweet141 Favorite16 More |
Re: The NHL Thread
Yep, sounds like it's done. Yandle to NYR for Anthony Duclair (prospect), picks (including a first). ARI pays half the salary
Hefty price ag, but the Rags just got better |
Re: The NHL Thread
New York is in a win it now mindset. They got real close last year, lets see if this works out for them. (I hope they fail miserably)

Rangers need to win a Cup soon for all the first rounders and now prospects they are giving up.

McKenzie says Girardi was never part of it. Kypreos either had bad sources or just makes shit up. Suter plays for the Wings too.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Kings one year, Rangers the next? A girl can dream!
|
Re: The NHL Thread
The first rounder for the Yotes is a 2016 pick

Wonder if the Flyers will find buyers for any of there other defensemen.

|
Re: The NHL Thread
Well go Caps, Isles, Pens or Bruins. Whoever faces them in the playoffs. Love when teams make these moves and fail. Ya know...unless it's mine.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
I'm the opposite, I'm really pulling for the Rangers.
I love Yandle, Hank, Nash, McDonagh, Brassard, Moore, and Stepan. I still think they're about one or two pieces short, but holy hell. I really want to see Hank hoist the Cup one time. This picture last year really made me feel for the guy: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BqEKeZCCEAA7JqO.jpg |

I'm all in on the Rangers if the Hawks can't win it. |
Re: The NHL Thread
So tomorrow we got maybe Zidlicky, Petry, Mihalec(I know that misspelled) maybe Bozak, Dion, the rest of the Leafs, maybe Cole from the Stars.
|
Glencross almost no playoff experience. So the jury will be out on him.
Caps will make another move for another forward. Stewart makes the most sense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: The NHL Thread
If the Rangers and Preds meet in the Finals, there will be 7 1-0 games.
McDonagh-Girardi Yandle-Klein Staal-Boyle Seriously? And THEN you still need to get it by the best goaltender in the world? Christ. |

Wings might be forced to make move for forward. Helm hurt and not sure how long.

Hearing rumors again that the Caps are talking to Edmonton about Jordan Eberle. Possibly for Mike Green. Would even out Eberle's cap hit.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
I want tomorrow to be over with already
|
Re: The NHL Thread
4-1 Panthers over TBL. Wings could be within 1 and have 3 games in hand.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Cole to the Wings. Guessing Helm is out a while. Still think they look for D tomorrow. Petry or Zidlicky would be my guesses.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Damn just heard. I kinda wanted Cole. I like him. Wonder how much truth there is to this Eberle rumor
|
Re: The NHL Thread
I hope someone takes Coburn for a first
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Wings give up 2 prospects, apparently one who didn't want to be here and another whose stock had dropped, along with a 2nd for Cole and a third. I'm ok with this. Adds depth and size.

Old Stevie Y burning the midnight oil. Landing Coburn and trading Connolly to the Bruins.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
What a great haul for the Flyers
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Great return for Coburn. Hope they unload one more D man today. And of course Vinny. But that seems doubtful.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Flyers have a ton of top 90 picks this draft. I wonder if they package one or two with a prospect to get rid of Vinny.
