It's trade day!!! My Caps will most likely make a run for at D and/or goalie. Today will be just as good as the first 2 days of March Madness

You are aware Erat has been traded for a defenseman, right?

edit: guess it wasn't brought up in here yet. Erat and a prospect to Phoenix for Klesla, Chris Brown and a 4th

Whoever comes in second and third in the central is coming to be pretty mad. Two of Chi STL and Colo have to play each other and then the winner would probably face the third one. That sucks.

It's gonna be Chicago and Colorado...which sucks.

That doesn't REALLY count.

Sadly, it's an upgrade for our bottom D pairing for sure

Another big win for the jackets.

Bring on the Blackhawks.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

So for Luongo and Schneider the Canucks got Horvat, Markstrom and Matthias?

Quote about Markstrom, who is a KEY part of this deal:

"He's struggled with the technical side of his game -- positioning, depth control, reads, rebounds etc. When he's on his game, he's a huge, calm goalie who can make unique saves. However he hasn't been that on a consistent basis, and with 1.5 years left on his contract, and being 24 years of age, it's likely now or never for Markstrom before a deal in Europe comes beckoning. He could be an NHL starter, maybe even a quality starter, but that scenario has steadily become more unlikely."

What's even more ridiculous is what Buffalo got for Ryan Miller compared to what Vancouver got for BOTH Schneider and Luongo. Crazy how much worse Vancouver's return was than Buffalo's.

Pretty sure I could have got a better return than Gillis did. Man, he's really f'd that team up for a few years now.

Looks like there is a lot of smoke coming from the (Marty) St. Louis--> NYR fire this morning.

TSN keeps talking Detroit in the Kesler sweeps. The fact they keep coming up means they are trying, which surprises me.

He's from the area, so I could see it happening.

Kesler to the Hawks basically dead, apparently.

Rangers and MSL getting really interesting.

That part makes sense. Just not sure where he fits. Well with so many injuries right now...anywhere. Lol

Not surprisingly, #firegillis is #3 trending topic in Canada :lol

Hopefully Hemsky's two goals last night will get a bit more in return for him today. Maybe a 2nd rounder...?

Jake Gardiner for Hemsky and a 3rd? Not sure Toronto needs a 'Hemsky' though.

after listening to Richards' post game last night it sure sounded like Gaborik would be dealt.

Can't wait! I keep hoping Columbus pulls through and makes the playoffs. That city would be fun for a playoff series.

Sounds like they're really trying hard for MSL, but just don't think the Lightning are giving him up.

Kesler sounds like he's staying put.

MSL is staying put.

Gaborik probably traded.

Vanek who knows.

If the reports are true about the Rangers and Cally being just 500k per year apart they would be dumb to not sign him.

Any of y'all heard any more about Brodeur potentially moving? That would be kinda sad

I guess I'm having a hard time understanding why he wants out

Gaborik should be traded but who really wants/could potentially take an underperformer with a 7.5mill cap hit?

Hasek did the 1A/1B thing with Ozzie his last year and lost the job in the playoffs. He kept his mouth shut. Is Marty's ego that much bigger?

he must want to play past this year. Otherwise, I'm not sure why he is wanting out. He should retire a Devil if this is the end.

This sheds some more light on it.

:lol did anyone see Tim Thomas' comments last night on the Luongo trade?

Interesting note I learned last night:
CBJ is the youngest team in the league by average age, the oldest? Florida Panthers. :lol that franchise is in shambles.
