Yup. Six this year and 11 going back to last year. It's better than a regulation loss but damn.

Look, if the Oilers make it to OT/shootout, I'm thrilled!

I know. And I'm very appreciative of the fact that this is always in the playoffs but just hate losing in that dang skills competition. Sure sounds like from the last GM meetings that we could at the very least expand OT another few minutes. Find out at the meetings in March.

that 1 game winning streak was fun while it lasted.

They have a pretty funny perpetual banter going on. Funny to see among teammates.

Even though they're no longer teammates but the banter between Hartnell, JvR and Carle a few years ago was some of the funniest stuff ever.

Howard out 2-4 weeks. Zetterberg not eligible to come off IR until Dec 28th. This Winter Classic might suck.

since starting 12-1, the Avs are 9-8....much more like it.

After 5 minutes of OT the Wings should just be like "we're good. take the 2 points."

Thanks :thumbsup

Had some really bumpy moments already that just prove they have some growing to still do. Even so, I'm excited about the direction they are heading. There's still not a single guy on the roster I would move "just to move". I love the dynamic they've built and hope they stick with it, letting the team grow together.

EDIT: At least we don't have Coach Q behind the bench anymore. Dodged a bullet there amirite? ;)

There are elite teams, great teams, good teams, and shitty teams. Not to sound like a homer, but the Hawks are the only elite team in my book. Until someone knocks them off of the throne it's just going to stay that way. I just think the Hawks are on another level in this league.

Great teams would be your Kings, Sharks, Ducks, Blues, Bruins, Red Wings (when healthy), and mayybe the Pens.

Good teams is a much larger group. They'll make noise in the playoffs, but in reality they aren't going to be doing anything crazy come June except golfing. Here is where I would put the Avs, Wild, Canucks, Stars, Canucks, Coyotes, Caps, Habs, Lightning, Maple Leafs.

Everyone else is shitty. Sorry.

I agree with most of this, even your assessment of the Hawks being the only really elite team out there right now. Ducks are between Great/Good for me... not completely sold on them yet.

Can't believe the Canucks got to be in the "good" category twice and CBJ didn't even get mentioned.

Yeah. They've got what it takes in terms of talent but they did last year too. Poor Bruce. Had the same with the Caps. Actually in terms of talent, those Caps teams like in 09 and 10 might have been more talented from top to bottom.

didn't bonzo predict pre-season that the blues wouldn't make the playoffs?

power rankings :lol, the end all be all of the league.

the metropolitan division is awful. so are the Blue Jackets. The East is just pretty bad in general.

oops, didn't realize I wrote Canucks twice.

:lol I was completely kidding with the power rankings comment.

come on the blue jackets are not awful, they are mediocre to average.

I am the resident Blues hater though.

if you think the blue jackets are average you are watching too much Eastern conference hockey.

I know, the blues killed your father apparently.

I'll be sure to yell something off color towards their bench tomorrow night for you.

The good thing about the Jackets being in the East is they're pretty much a lock to make the playoffs, right? Once they're in, anything can happen...

:thumbsup:thumbsup

Just think bozo, you're going to take a team on the outskirts of a playoff berth, that is playing better and add Horton, Gaborik and the reigning Vezina winning goaltender. It's hard to imagine them not getting to atleast the ECF.
