Mike Green to Tampa, Luke Glendenning to TO and wouldn't be shocked to see one of either Tatar or Nyquist traded.

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

Green is going to Washington.

Tampa's not doing anything big.

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

Karlson to tampa,
Either brassard or grabner to pitt.

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

looks like grabner is being pulled from tonight's game because of trade talks.

same thing might happen with nash.

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

i hope the Oilers have confiscated Chiarelli's phone and have someone watching over him. They obviously need to make moves, but he'll trade Draisaitl for a 3 pair D-man or something.

Very interesting that they list Flyers as interested in Karlsson and OEL.

Flyers, Caps, and Pens all have the same games played. Caps got a point lead on Flyers and Pens. Metro is tight as fuck

Canada down 0-2 to the Krauts with 15:00 left in the 2nd.

Panic mode is seeping in.

Edit: now 0-3. Uh-oh.

That’s a bummer if true. Was hoping the Pens would grab him.

Has it been finalized? I know he and Nash were scratches last night.

4-3 for the Germans with 9min left. This has been a hell of a game. It's had it all. Goals, saves, penalty shot and what should be an attempted murder charge on Gilbert Brule.

OK Flyers. Mrazak was great in debut.

Yeah, I thought the same when I saw that tweet. I mean it sucks, but...meh? It doesn't feel right to feel this way though. Should be devastated - perhaps my general hockey apathy has transferred to the Olympics too.

.....at least the Oilers won last night? Right? Right? Playoff push?

I think this Olympics just failed to generate excitement on the men's side of hockey. If it was an all juniors tournament like the World Juniors are every year, or full of NHL starts I think this would have changed it a lot. But the rosters that were sent to these games just made it feel like a forgone conclusion that the OAR's would win gold.

At times I got interested, but overall I found myself just watching other sports or normal NHL hockey during these games. I was addicted to the WJC again back in December though. So I feel that there was just a disconnect in that we didn't really care about these teams that were there this year.

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

I think playing on the other side of the world didn't help. Hockey isn't all that popular to begin with and then you get mishmash teams playing at times that most people don't watch...just bad recipe. Can't help the location though. I mean didn't pay much attention and even if it was the NHL stars, I wouldn't have. I'm in bed when most of these games are happening.

mr.MikeD 02-23-2018 08:39 AM

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

Yeah I'm on the same page as you guys.

Also I thought I was a fan of the big ice, having watched the world's absolute best play on it. Watching players who aren't that good, I wasn't such a fan. So I'm firmly in the no big ice in the NHL camp too. Not that it's even really a possibility.

Germany must have been inspired by Drai's one man show that he put on last night. No comment on the playoffs....

If they win 20 of their last 22 games that would give them 94 points, which was good enough for a wildcard spot last year. Where there is hope, there is hope, right? :lol

I'll be impressed if they win more than 1/3 of their remaining games. What a disaster of a season.

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

Apparently the Grabner deal was the first time the Rangers and Devils have made a trade with each other, ever. That seems crazy to me.

Also crazy: Grabner has 25 goals... and six assists. That's awesome :lol

Ugh... his moves on that first goal were just filthy. And the way he chucked Sam Girard like a rag doll on the OT goal... man.

Sounds like pens got brassard

fonzz41 02-23-2018 11:40 AM

Re: The NHL Thread (Golden Knights are alright)

^ Yep

@DarrenDreger

Brassard to Pittsburgh for a 1st, goalie Gustavsson and other cap related elements.

EDIT: Dreger just said Ian Cole is also part of the deal.
