Driving me crazy too here in CT - all of a sudden people who have not worn a hockey shirt since Brodeur retired are now sporting Devils apparel!

Not a fan of his play, I think he is over-rated defensively but he is a solid human being. ESPN recently had an article interviewing him and I was impressed with him and all he has done off the ice.

YES. As I’ve said before, he’s not close to my favorite player, but the stuff he does for the community is out of this world. A great ambassador for the sport, and a perfect fit for Nashville.

As a person I have nothing but respect for him, he seems like a genuinely good guy who helps every community he can. On the ice he drives me crazy though, he is not a very good defensive player and has to compensate by being a little dirty at times to make up for a mistake. Offensively he can QB a power play, he moves the puck well and has a great shot. The constant praise he gets for being such a great D man boggles my mind because he is really (discounting his offensive prowess) a # 5 or 6 guy on the blue line.

I can’t tell if it’s a halfhearted attempt to stick up for MacKinnon, or if he was just skating past, Rinaldo was in the way, and he just crosschecked him a bit. Regardless, he was already skating away when Rinaldo cleaned his clock.

And I know, #garageleague, but I loved seeing EJ clean up on Rinaldo after. MacK was even in there too until EJ was like, “I got this”. Sign of a close team that believes in each other - something I haven’t seen from the Avs in a long time until this season.

Don't get me wrong, Rinaldo definitely suckered him. But Rinaldo also knows after making that hit that he's going to be a target. Unfortunately, the guy coming in to defend his star player was a 160 pound teenager. :lol :lol

Penns wouldn't get a great return IMO. Between his contract & injury concerns hard to see them getting a good return
