Pierre to Ovie: "ever since you've come in he league it's been Crosby vs Ovechkin. He's got his gold medals and two Stanley cups. You don't have those yet. Is this going to be the year for the capitals?"

:lol if I was Ovie I would've been ready to punch him

Good for Ovie. Say what you want, but the dude can play some offense. One of the best this game has seen.

I don't think anyone's ever questioned his offensive abilities.

That's been questioned at least once or twice. At least before we cleared up what one actually is anyway.

And for Big Buff - wasn't that the point of your question though? They had to change after 2010 because of the salary cap, and I wish they didn't have to lose him for that reason...

To the first, yeah - I am unsure of the details myself - sort of tough to find too. Just ticked me off because I thought we could have retained him, hope we got some drafts or prospects out of it plus, guess I cannot complain too much since losing him allowed us to get Panarin!

As for big Buf - yeah, agreed. Salary cap sucks.

Matty, how's your boy Barrie been playing. His stats were ok for a while but dropped off the last week. I ask because I'm wondering with Mike Green now off of IR do I keep him and drop Barrie, or maybe someone else.

Anisimov was the big win in that trade. We had Marko Dano, but then traded him for Ladd last year...so it really ended up being Saad for Anisimov and a 4th round pick.

glad it's only January and the Pens still have a decent record, but i'm starting to get slightly concerned about their metro play

2 blowouts against the Caps and 1 blowout against CBJ

now, as defending champs, they are getting everyone's A game/best shot night in and night out, but it's time to start beating good teams methinks

Wouldn't be shocked if the Flyers actually make a trade this year to better the team.

If you guys are REALLY bored, the top two HS teams in NJ are playing. No. 16 on the blue team (St. Augustine) is Carson Briere, Danny Briere's kid. St. Aug is our local team.

And Delbarton is my local prep-school. I knew many people who attended Delbarton.

The Delbarton vs. Seton Hall games at Mennen Arena are always crazy and sell out. Many of the New Jersey Devils attend the game every year.

Edit: I should also note that I have had the displeasure of playing Delbarton when I was in high school. It felt to us like we were playing a professional team...

Mennen Arena is nice. Covered the Prep/CBA semifinal there a couple years ago. The younger van Riemsdyk was a senior on CBA that year.

Awesome man!

I worked as a Skate Guard and EMT there for almost 10 years while in high school and College!

It is a nice 3 rink facility with rink one holding a pretty solid crowd for games.
