Excellent article. You'll like it.

"Unlike broken bones, concussions are invisible, and that means that everyone in the hockey community needs to unite and redefine what we mean by toughness and warrior mentality. If we continue to keep quiet, it’s sending the message that taking time to recover is not right, or that it’s a sign of weakness. We have to stand up and speak up."

TPT may be one of the greatest/influential things in sports journalism (outside maybe 30 for 30)

Patrick O'Sullivan's TPT article is the most important piece of sports literature I've ever read.

But yeah. As I was reading this one I just kept thinking, "this is what a real leader does."

Players I'd love to see write articles on TPT (in no order) -

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane (maybe in 5 years in a "letter to my younger self" type article), Mike Richards, P.K. Subban, Jarome Iginla, Roberto Luongo (his time in Vancouver, and just him in general), Jumbo Joe, the Staal brothers, Marty St. Louis, Ilya Kovalchuk...

I'm sure there's more, that's just off the top of my head real quick.

A Bobby Lou TPT article is so needed.

Re: The NHL Thread

I think now that he was put on waivers I think a vet like Antoine Vermette could benefit some team and they could get him on the cheap. He is a solid player with a ton of postseason experience (including one cup win helped by his 3 game winning goals in the playoffs, one in OT) that can be slotted in almost anywhere. Hell, if they can swing it I would not mind seeing Chicago give him a 1 year cheap offer and slot him in for limited ice time and to step up if someone else got hurt or needed a healty scratch.

would fit in nicely in pittsburgh if we can't resign Matt Cullen

he could slide right in to that 3rd/4th line center role on a team that has aspirations to win now

Yeah, he would be a better fit there than in Chicago IMO - simply because the Hawks have approximately 10 centers under contract. He is one of those guys who is not a star so he can be signed cheaply for the short term and fit right in with any team and play whatever role they want from him.

Didn't read that one. Thanks for sharing. When Cam wrote about clapping as loud as he could with Nolan not reacting......that's some heartbreaking shit right there. Wow.

Yeah that part of the story got me. I remember doing the hearing test and all of that in the hospital and being happy but taking it for granted in a way too. Can't imagine.
