This is where not having a horse in the race comes in really handy. I was able to just sit back and enjoy a great Finals. The Penns were obviously the better team, but the series remained a hard-fought display with plenty to be happy about.

And as always, the presentation and celebration with the Cup remains unrivaled in sports. So much class, dignity, humility, and just pure joy on display. Never ceases to amaze me.

Coongrats Pitt. Very proud of my Sharks. Did not expect them to make it to the Cup yet alone past the 1st round this season.

Feel for Thornton and Marleau. Look how long it took them to get there and odds of them getting back are small.

So happy for so many guys on this team top to bottom. Daley, Duper, Kessel, Hagelin, Cullen, Fehr, Mario, Rutherford.

Fuck you

LORD STANLEY LORD STANLEY!!!!

It was really great to see Dupuis and Daley on ice and in uniform. And I got a little misty when they handed the cup to Mario. I'll never get tired of seeing that.

Those are tough to eat out of the Cup but it would be entertaining to watch him try. Like a dog burying it's face in it's dog food.

M. Jones was fantastic. Pens had tons of crazy chances and Jones kept scores close.

Congrats Pens fans, I'm jealous of you all haha.

Watched one game of the series, which is one more than I expected to. I actually forgot the game was on last night. Woke up to the news lol

Daley never really fit into the Chicago style of play and the Hawks weren't going to change themselves to fit Delay's play, glad he fit with you guys and did well.

I really thought Letang should have gotten the Conn Smythe.

That was my guess as well, I figured it would be him or Murray.

I get the Crosby was a much better leader now than...well anytime in the past, especially looking back at 13 when the Bruins seemed to bug the fuck out of him, but if you would have told me he'd win the MVP with not scoring in the Finals and being nowhere near the leading scorers in the playoff, I wouldn't have believed it. Looking at it objectively my ballot would have been Phil, Murray and then Crosby. Bob McKenzie had his as Phil, Sid and then Couture and I wouldn't have had a problem with Logan getting it even losing in a 6 game series. Not taking anything from the Pens, actually giving them credit for winning it as a team where you can't say someone is wrong for picking Sid, Phil, Murray, Letang etc.

Re: The NHL Thread

Sorry gotta switch it up to the only thing I can right now, offseason, but happy to hear this "The Coyotes and Red Wings are definitely talking about Pavel Datsyuk’s contract. The Hurricanes could be another option for Datsyuk, but it won’t happen." Yeah Canes won't happen because of the Illitch and Karmanos thing they won't help the Wings. Not that there wouldn't be a possible Howard trade if they wanted a goalie but they won't do non-hockey deal like trading of a contract.

I don't think you could have gone wrong with picking Phil or Murray either. However, despite not scoring, I think Sid was just at another level. The number of scoring chances he set up was unreal; I'm thinking of Sheary's OT goal and that other play when they didn't score but he literally stopped on a dime on the half wall and hit that ridic centering pass. I don't remember what game that was.

Plus, his defensive play is was I have marveled at all playoffs long. It was on display again last night when he blocked that shot with his stick. I still think back to when he went coast to coast and broke up that two on one play earlier this series. He was all over the ice end line to end line and just been on another level.

IMO.

Haha yeah I kinda forgot too. Thought about it about 10:30 last night and was like oh shit that's probably tonight. It was :lol

Hey I guess if the Penns had to win the Cup at least it happened at 11pm on a Sunday night in San Jose while nobody watched :thumbsup

So many awesome stories. Letang overcame a stroke, multiple concussions, and a personal tragedy and factored in on every gwg this series
