Also can Subban's race hurt him anymore than it does when he does something like this?? Like really dude. On Jackie Robinson day you go and do that. Fuck that. Get that POS off the ice

I think the only thing we know is that he'd hate somewhere like Winnipeg. Hockey market there is already basically as saturated as it can get, and the national ratings here in the US would be shit. Canadian ratings probably wouldn't be that great either.

I don't think he ever wants an All Canadian match-up. Habs/Canucks even probably suck in the US. Winnipeg/Ottawa? Eesh.

Was talking with someone on twitter about this:

How do you quantify those odds? In terms of Babcock or any coach/gm. You'd have to know what each team out there would offer in terms of money and control, and know what said coach/gm was looking for.

People realize that if you assess a major slashing penalty then it automatically results in a game misconduct, right?

How do people keep missing this?

Why would PK Subban care about Jackie Robinson day? He's Canadian.

Yes, I already humbly conceded that point:

I just looked at the NHL rulebook, which says, "Whenever a major penalty is assessed for slashing, a game misconduct penalty must also be imposed." Thanks for bringing that to my attention, as it is indeed different from the rules I'm accustomed to.

So I suppose yes, I would be giving him a game misconduct because I still wouldn't feel comfortable giving him anything less than a 5-minute penalty.

I fully place the blame on me being more familiar with USA Hockey rules than NHL rules. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :lol

New(ish) rules man. People are gonna be slow on the uptake for a while.

I really think the Subban slash should have been a 2 minute minor. 5 minute major and a game misconduct seems harsh.

Yeah, two minutes seems like too little for that kinda slash, but 5 and a game seems too much.

Does the NHL do 2 and 10s? I don't remember seeing one recently.

For what it's worth, Kerry Fraser tweeted this:

The trouble is determining when an injury occurs.

Exactly or even IF an injury occurred. Yes, Stone did get injured but at the time, just cause he went to the locker room, doesn't mean it was injured (hypothetically speaking).

Let's say Stone didn't get injured. He went to the locker room and was back minutes later. The commentators even said something about it. Obviously unaware that he was, in fact, injured.

Just one of those tough calls the refs have to make in a moment.

I do think they are fucked though
