That game was a microcosm of their season. Come out of the gates swinging then slowly die.

Wings won (barely) and I'm staring at the NHL app watching the time tick down on the box score and then it said 3-3 and I was about to throw something but then it was just a laugh like "figures."

Kings seem to be in the same boat. They get a crap team to play against last night, who they beat 8-2 a few games ago, and they lose to them. West should be wide open. The East I think (of course as of now) it's Habs or TBL out of the Atlantic and NYR out of the Metro.

Wings are usually the opposite. Start off crappy and then decide to turn it on down 2 or 3 nothing.

Last night for the Kings was an absolute worst case scenario.

I kind of enjoyed it.

Why did they not play Quick....seems dumb

Yeah, NHL Network guys were saying the same thing. He's your Cup champ. Unless his GAA is 5.00 a game, you let him take you. Wings let Howie get back on track and now it's probably him to the end.

Knowing the Flyers beat the Pens twice recently to help their potential slide out of the playoffs is amazing

haha i'm sure...flyers 1st season sweep of the pens since the 70's

The Blackhawks seem to think that they will just be able to turn on the Jets next week when the playoffs start. I'm not as convinced, but they have certainly made me eat my own foot on those type of predictions. Getting came back would be gargantuan

I laughed heartily when the Flyers nabbed that last goal with 2 seconds to go.
I love my Isles dearly; I do.

Kane will add an undeniable and unquantifiable amount of energy to the Hawks. No need to worry about them

Flyers hold the overall better record against Pens, they have won 4 of 6 playoff series and swept the Penguins three times versus the Penguins getting two season sweeps. Flyers own the series when it's head to head between the two

yea but that's mainly because the penguins went like 40-some games in a row losing at the Spectrum

since then it's been a bit more even, but yea, flyers are the pens' Bane for sure

it's my favorite by far and that includes Steelers-Ravens

nothing like Flyers v. Pens especially when both teams are good like 08-12

The guy that in 3 seasons has 2 Stanley Cups and one WCF loss to the eventual Cup champ?

He's gonna have to try a LOT harder than that.

If that happens he needs to stay in the league.

I love when he is interviewed. Same with Hitchcock. They are just the best.

It's the NHL, they fire guys for dumber reasons. Bob Hartley was fired early in 02-03 after never losing before round 3 in his 4 seasons there. If the Wings ran their team like that, Babcock would have been fired a year ago.

Caps ain't Pens bad. No where near.

Caps first 100 + point season since '10. Which wasn't too surprising seeing that they used to win the SE Division with 91/93 points.

Speaking of Flyer/Pens rivalry and with the playoffs coming up soon reminds me of the great 2012 ECQF series between the two teams. That game 3? Was the tits, though it was a circus

Pens would need to lose out most likely for that to happen. Lose to the Isles (which that game should be interesting with how bad both are playing) and then to the Sabres.

OK Rangers, I know you've got shit wrapped up, but help a guy out tonight. A regulation win for you. That guarantees my team is in.

ROW for Boston against Florida and a OTL for the Pens and the Bruins jump past them. They own the tiebreaker in that scenario.

Obviously a regulation loss for Pittsburgh works as well.

Obviously the Pens could go 1-1-0 and the Sens go 2-0-0 and the Sens are in as well.
