Wow, worse than the Wings, surprising. Now if the Wings game against the Flames tonight goes to a SO and they win, the day after the Flyers, then yeah, take cover everyone.

I don't know if it was so much Oduya that lost it as it was Varly that won it.

Avs can probably give more but he's only got a year left after this one. And for any team looking to get him, could be a risk.

No one loses a hockey game in one shift, let alone because of one dangle.

And since December 1, the Jackets are what...12-2-1?

Yes and no. I mean I understand the argument both ways. Now I didn't see the game, so can't comment on that instance. But Steve Smith putting it off of Fuhr's skate, decided that game. Now I know you'll say there were other chances for the losing team to win or score or whatever, and that might be true, but that one play decided that game.

Yeah but I'm thinking he was referring to them being done or something similar. He was pretty down if I remember right. But that's the fun about sports, it can swing. Well it's fun when it swings to the good.

Yeah, but if someone else had scored at another time or another opportunity had been capitalized on, the Smith thing may not have even mattered. Not disagreeing with you, just saying it's always hard to point out one instance or player who "lost" a game for a team.

In this case, the Avs scored two quick goals at the very beginning of the game. After that, the Blackhawks basically kicked the crap out of them. That's why I say it wasn't anyone on the Blackhawks that lost that game, it was Varly basically going out and winning it by himself. 54 saves. Sheesh.

Although MacKinnon's work on both goals was a thing of beauty.

This. What if the Oilers put a couple more in the net instead of ringing them off the post? What if Fuhr made a couple more stops?

There's always an opportunity to nullify mistakes. No one loses a game because they got dangled once in a game. Even if it was a pretty nasty dangle.

I wouldn't say that in the slightest. In fact, I'd say the opposite. If they win this next one against Toronto, they have 2 games in hand and will be 4 points back, which puts them in great position to overtake the Leafs, who just happen to hold the last spot. They'd also be ahead of Ottawa, and 3 points back of Boston with 1 game in hand. They're right fuckin' there. I think they're gonna make it, but I've been wrong before.

Yup. Another thing for Columbus to overtake Toronto. A win for them on the 9th over the imploding Leafs (shocker) and they will be 4 points back with 3 games in hand. Columbus is right in this bad boy.

Good for the Caps too.

You know, I know the Caps are often seen as a big joke around here, but they've been playing some unbelievable hockey lately.

:thumbsup Trotz and Laviolette are my front runners for the Adams.

And I'm so glad I decided to hold on to Holtby in my fantasy club.

But yeah, the Caps could win the Cup and we'd still make fun of them. It's just part of the thread culture at this point. :)

This is why I loathe people who still to this day blame Michael Leighton for making the Flyers lose the Stanley Cup.

I bet. I was real hard on the guy earlier in the season, but he's been an absolute beast for about 6 weeks now. He's started over 20 in a row, and won like 15 or 16 of them.

I do expect he'll sit out tonight though.

I honestly didn't realize the Caps have closed the gap to 4 behind the Isles and 5 behind the Pens. Plus a game on hand. Wow.

Those Rangers though. They just won't stop.

there's angles where I was saying the same thing. then again, there's angles where it was either under or so close there's no way they could overturn it. and then there's angles where it looks like it didn't even hit the stick :lol

pens had so many chances. no doubt in my mind the b's would get swept or lose in 5 in a 7 game series against them right now.

So my roommate got an email from the Kings about a package for the stadium series in San Jose. Air fare, hotel and tickets to the game. The email didn't have any prices on it, so she called and it was all free for being a Crown Club member. They are giving her 4 tickets total. Looks like I'm going to the game after all!

Rangers continue to be the hottest team in the NHL winning 11 of their last 12. They also still have at least two games at hand on everyone ahead of them!

I don't expect a W tonight though. Kind of shitty for the NHL to make this match up a night after they just played a game.

Pens deserved a better result last night

absolutely dominated the B's outside of a few shifts here and there

love the way they're playing right now. if the Pens ever get healthy, it's gonna get scary

Kings coming off a 4 day break too. Could be good or bad.
