Great story on Hamonic, highlighting the E:60 piece espn did last week. I never knew he did this and it is nice to see a positive sports story.

I'm really excited to see this. Very cool. :thumbsup

Sorry if it offended you, Marty. Referring to Voynov this year and Varlamov last year (I assume that's who Matt was talking about).

Particularly in sports where there are just only so many things to talk about. Media loves finding a story, getting him suspended and away from the team allows the team to focus on what's important.

Exactly. Should be this way wth any convicted crime of a player. It's not saying the organization is calling him guilty, it's taking away the distraction. And it's the right thing to do.

What I don't think is fair is his salary counting against the cap. The Kings are now being penalized for something they did not do. I'm sure if he is actually found guilty that that will change but, that could take months.

I agree with this. I was surprised this didn't happen last year with Varlamov. I get where Roy was coming from when he said that Varlamov maintained his innocence and they (the Avs) tried to prove they were willing to trust and stand by their guy by keeping him on the roster. But if anything, suspending him is the right thing to do in the sense of taking a hard stance on the domestic violence issue. That even allegations will be taken very seriously.

Have a tissue handy. It aired last week so hopefully it gets repeated. Otherwise, it should eventually show up the E:60 page at espn.com. It really is a restoring faith in humanity story.

Screw the Voynov story. What Travis is doing is way more important, more interesting and something I'd rather hear about.

I'll be on the lookout for it. Thanks for bringing it up. :thumbsup

And yeah, these are the best types of stories to see.

Not so sure Varlamov would have avoided suspension this year, with all the heightened awareness and sensitivity to the issue.

Now on to fantasy hockey...http://espn.go.com/fantasy/hockey/st...atest-rankings

Glad I picked up Pearson and Brodie earlier this week! I squeaked by waterboy for the 1st week win.

Dastyuk might be ready to go against the Habs on Tuesday. Hope so, they could use his offense.

great win by the pens saturday night. spent nearly half the game on the pk and pulled it out. Hornqvist has been an amazing addition. Does so much more than Neal ever did.

So Wings need to win tomorrow and Thursday because if the last 17 years is any indication, they'll lose in Philly on Saturday.

I'm actually ok with it, because the last two wins they had there came in May of 1997. I'd take that trade off any day.

For those interested, the Hamonic E:60 story will air at 2am this morning on espn2. Check your dvr.

Haven't been around much since Edmonton doesn't have an NHL team anymore. Had a beer at a pub across the road from the new arena construction site last Friday. Going to be the nicest minor league rink in the country when it's done. #winphobic #tradeeveryone #amihashtaggingproperly
