ESPN is just garbled garbage at this point. They have nothing to offer substance wise.

I usually put on SportsCenter as background while I get ready for my day (unless it's hockey season, then it's NHL Tonight obviously), but when NBA free agency is happening I just can't

I would hold out to watch the WC final too though

I think he knows but my point is an NHL player wouldn't be doing this for the attention and control the way he is.

One of my favorite tweets from NHL free agency:

Willie Mitchell @Willie_Mitch33 · Jul 2

"I will now be taking my talents to South beach" Let's do this @FlaPanthers! #playoffsrcoming

Went up to Flyers rookie camp today. Nothing really jumped out, as it should be since, you know, it's a bunch of drills in July. (I hate people who over-evaluate this shit).

Looking at the list of blue liners, the Flyers have five solid guys who all have NHL: Alt, Gostisbehere, Hagg, Morin and Sanheim. Sanheim and Gost have some great feet, I can tell you that. I'm looking forward to seeing these guys in game action. Same for Hagg, who should be with Lehigh this year.

good news.

When I saw that last night when I got home. my first thought was , wow, that's too much money. Is it an overpay? Does CBJ have to overpay like the Isles did to obtain/keep talent? I know he brings a lot of intangibles but I thought it was a lot. Good for CBJ, though.

In other news, what's all this talk about Cleveland. Did they get an expansion team?

1996 World Cup on the NHL Network. Game 1 on now. Game 3 is on at 8:30. Such a great series.

The USA - Russia game at MSG was truly an unbelievable night and experience. One of my favorite live game experiences ever for any sport. Hard to put it over Islanders playoff wins, especially in OT (yeah, we've had those and I've seen them in person) but to be there in person to shout U-S-A and the buzz in the building was not quite The Miracle on Ice but it was up there. There was still some hate the Soviets.

And 94 wasn't that long ago but I was firmly behind Richter and Leetch and rooting against Kasparaitis, arguably my favorite Islander at the time.

And I remember, the post game stop at Runway 69 to celebrate wasn't bad either.

Sadly I don't remember the early rounds at all really. It was a weird situation for me. Root for the US or Stevie, Coffey and Primeau. At that time it felt like Stevie would never win a Cup so wanted him to win something. Game 3 seemed over and then I think it was 4 goals in like 3 minutes. It was surreal how it happened so fast.Watching those games again the other night, I fogot how good Richter was. Henrik still got some time in his career but same thing happened to Richter. A great goalie, whose team just wans't good enough. Richter got his one but that one was a challenge.

This is something they just need to do regularly. I know it's not the Olympics but I'd almost prefer to have this and have amateurs play the Olympics.

Lose one but gained one today. Granato is one of the new Wings assistant coaches.

Don't eat that if you want to do anything physical the rest of the day.

One of the worst mistakes I ever made was eating Indian food right before playing my first hockey game after a two-year hiatus.
