I'm complaining because the NHL took their chance to change the playoff format, only to make it worse! The way it was certainly was not perfect but now it's just moronic.

absurd. The new playoff system is going to be awesome. The thing that throws it off is this stupid wild card thing. It should just be the top 4 teams and then the first two rounds are divisional playoffs. Can you imagine a Hawks-Blues playoff series? Every year? And then we play them 6 more times? Insane.

HallowBillies7 11-16-2013 12:49 PM

Yeah my only complaint is the wildcard, I still don't completely get it haha.

Man, the Avs are falling back to Earth.

I think it was a big mistake trading away Downie.

Best game the jackets have played this year yesterday against the Sens. Hopefully they string a few together on this road trip. I remember when a 5 game westercan canda road trip used to seem impossible :lol

That could be a benefit come playoff time for the Eastern Champion. In theory of course, the West Champ will have a tougher road of it.

When they expand in a few years to Quebec and the Northwest we'll get that probably. Granted will probably mean my Wings are back West but I'd be ok with that without the Wild Card.

For realz, although not gonna blame it on Downie. Blaming it on the guys who are there. The problem with a young team going on a tear like this is that when you hit a rough patch, you hit it hard. I said early in the season I'd be interested to see how they handled adversity... sounds like Roy needs to start crushing people under glass.

The Panthers were supposed to be the game where they get their swagger back...

and unsurprisingly Colorado is coming back down to earth. We'll see what happens but this trend is more likely, Duchene or not.

Chicago
STL
Minnesota
Dallas

that's my central prediction.

Right now it's "not", as Dutch will be out about a week.

Yeah Tanguay went down now they are without Duchene for a short bit. Not exactly the same team that was winning all of those games.

That said, yeah I don't really think Colorado is that good yet either but obviously I have made that clear.

I like that it said the "pg-rated version of 24/7." I imagine Carlyle dropping plenty of f-bombs. Babcock doesn't strike me as a guy to do it too often. He probably does it more during the games. He's just so even keel most of the time.

Looked into it but, maybe I'm getting old, but I couldn't dish out the money for shit seats at The Big House. With the money I could have spent on those two tickets, I could go to 3 regular games. I can sit at home and drink on my couch and not have to deal with the cluster fuck that is Ann Arbor on (any) game day.

Well, the Oil will be feeling pretty big and mighty after that win on Saturday. They'll be playing hard to make it back-to-backs, and I think Dubnyk will be starting. Everyone knows the Oilers are better than what they are playing, but they are obviously having a real tough time living up to expectations.

I'd say 60%.

Rebecca De Mornay 11-19-2013 05:58 AM

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

That sounds about right. CBJ has been playing better.

The game against the Oilers last year in February was when Bobrovsky decided he was the best goalie in the history of the NHL, hoping he is reminded of that again tonight :lol
