This Flyers/Devils series is completely shocking to me.

Also, :lol at Ken Hitchcock and the Blues

Rangers have been forechecking like the Devils are all season. Worked against Philly just as well. Hopefully it will work against the Caps tonight and we can score some goals on top of it.

St Louis you have embarrassed the Central Division. lol Congrats to the Kings for getting to the WCF's for the first time in in 19 years. I think they said first #8 team to beat both the #1 and #2 teams on route to the conference finals.

Haven't looked it up to confirm, but I think the '03 Ducks did this last.

Thought they played the Wild in the west finals, and I am pretty sure that they (the Wold) were a 7 seed. Again I haven't looked it up either haha.

That could be it, they may have just been the last team to beat the #1 and #2 teams en-route to the conference finals

Caps game is going to be intense tonight, I have a feeling the Caps are going to win this one. Lock it up for the good guys.

OMGCG getting a hearing and Ovie not speaks volumes about the league issues.

skate on the ice, contact with the shoulder. What about that deserves a hearing?

Neither of them deserves a hearing. They both kept their skates on the ice until contact was made and neither targeted the head (Giroux made contact with the head, and was penalized for it, but he wasn't targeting). Save the hearings for idiots like Torres.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

OMGCG definitely targeted the head. Maybe not as egregious as some of the other fouls we've seen this year, but definitely a head shot.

Looked to me like he was targeting the head.

Giroux made contact with the head and just about nothing else. How is that not "targeting the head?" :lol

Someone have a link to the Giroux hit? I missed the game last night.

Pretty clearly targeted the head. Drove his shoulder into his chin.

Giroux definitely went for the head. He could have just ran him into the boards with the shoulder or hell, tackled him from behind if he were lolumad. But he didn't. He went malicious. Should get a game.

OMGCG will get either a game, or a $2500 fine. I predict the latter of the two.

:thumbsup He's a superstar. $100 fine it is.

Not even an ill-timed accident, either. He's skating directly next to him for several moments, ample time to time a hit to the body. He actually waits for the left shoulder to pull back and clear a path to the head.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I love the top comment on that video:

Quote:

Flyer fans and a good amount of hockey followers who have lots of time to browse the comment sections of websites love to say all Crosby does is whine to the refs and does cheap shots. Watch a related video where it shows what happened 20 seconds prior to this hit. It shows Giroux taking his eyes of his man and the puck to whine to a ref, he throws a hissy fit, and finishes it off by taking a cheap shot.
He has some growing up to do as well.
Seriously. Stop crying to the ref while the play is still going on. Then running and taking a cheap shot at Zubrus? Classy. I hope he gets a couple games.

Both skates have to be on the ice, genius.

Actually, since it's OMGCG, the NHL will be giving him 2,500 dollars.

Things werent going his way, he cried to the refs, then tracked zubrus down and threw a shoulder into his head. Deserves a game, but probably wont get it.

Exactly. So many other ways to make that hit. That's an everyday situation, and Giroux definitely knows how to make that hit cleanly.

:thumbsup the image doesn't do it justice. Need to watch the play in real time. Definitely targeted the head. Again, just like the Giroux hit, so many other ways to go about making that hit.

It's funny cause I'm sure there is a screenshot of Ovi in full flight with both skates in the air, and Girardi's head planted fully into his shoulder. But that won't be posted by a Caps fan.

Let's be honest. In reality, he deserves about three to five games, but since it's Giroux and he's a superstar--he'll get fined.
