Thanks guys. The do a student/military special thing where cheap unsold single seats go on sale the day of, so I hopped on it. I was a big fan of the simplicity and the intimate feeling of the Joe, I feel like I might be overwhelmed by the LCA and all the pageantry and stuff.

Yeah, as a Yankees fan it is tough to decide myself - not that I have tix to the Yankee game or the Hawks game but I will inevitably end up clicking the hell out of my remote. Hopefully the Yanks have a nice comfortable lead after an hour when the Hawks start up against the Pens! :lol

I must say, while I’ll always be happy that it’s hockey time again, I’ve never been less excited about the start of a new Capitals season.

That’s probably not very good of me, as there’s definitely some interesting stuff happening and several younger players that are gonna get a regular spot this year for the first time, but still, I’m just like, not really that excited.

I think perhaps this team’s inability to finish has finally broken me. I’ll still watch when I can (like tonight), but I can’t see myself getting all riled up this year like I have in the past.

I was absolutely in awe at the LCA. Every little thing about it is perfect. Yeah I loved the Joe for the atmosphere, but literally everything else was a total improvement. Probably the most state of the art hockey/basketball arena in the world, not a single complaint. If you ever have the chance to see a DRW game there, go.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked myself. I figured they'd bounce back after that OT loss last night. I figured it would be a close game, never figured the Hawks would put up ten and the Pens would get their only goal on a 5 on 3. Pretty damn happy with our opener - also nice to see Saad get a hat trick in his first game back on the Hawks. Kane and Schmaltz were great too and nice to see Sharp net one in his first game back in Chicago!

We will just throw that one in the trash. Niemi looked really bad though. That’s the only concern I take from that game. Flat out lost the puck on two of those goals
