Obviously it does, but there also has to be some semblance of reality. The fact that you're doing this without your #1 defenseman and starting goalie is unreal.

No doubt. They have been on one heck of a tear.

With that said, it was incredibly frustrating (at least for me) to see the Pens get so dominated last night coupled with the fact they were one OT goal away from a sweep and/or 20 min away from a win in game 5. It was so because we all know they are capable of playing better even without Letang and Murray.

I'm not going to go into meltdown mode if they lose tomorrow night because you're right that they just won the cup last year, they are riddled with injuries, and are playing the President's Trophy (:lol) winners.

It will still be disappointing nonetheless.

Penguins practicing today, Caps are off.

If Washington thinks they have accomplished anything they are being very foolish.

Rangers fight for the right to keep the ice installed at the Garden a little longer tonight! Hope they play a strong 60 minute hockey game and get it done! All we can do as fans is hope and watch it all play out!

gah im in a pickle about what to do tomorrow.

WVU and PSU baseball are playing at pnc park tomorrow. I was supposed to go, and still might, but just leave after the 1st period of the pens game. Theres some reception for alumni with 2 hours of free booze.

Can I definitely stream the game on my phone with the NBC sports app?

Just would be doing it for a period then going to a bar for the 2nd and 3rd. Hmm.

I've been watching almost the whole playoffs from the NBC Sports app. Been working fine for me.

The irony of descent and crowd cheering nationalism isn't lost on me

Rags just do not have it tonight. Too bad, they should have already won this series.

LollerRangers...

Totally getting outplayed. More deserving team is winning. Oh well.

Impressive by the Senators

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

If someone would have told us at any point during the regular season that the Senators and the Predators would be going to their respective Conference Finals (and that the Oilers would be one win away from theirs), I would have laughed in their face. Really cool to see.

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

Tough finish for our Ranger people. Sorry to y'all.

Agree with Lockman that I feel especially bad for Hank. As much as I don't like the Rangers I've always liked him a lot. Not sure how many more shots the Rangers are gonna get before he's done.

The hockey gods gave the Caps a gift. Just gotta get through tonight.

But as you all know, until they prove me wrong, I pick the Pens to win.
