I would like to see any Norris Division (because that's what I'm calling it) matchup next year. Hawks-Blues, Wild-Wings, Wings-Blues, Stars-Wild (yes).

OMGCG with the stellar defensive positioning.

The refs are really trying to get the flyers back into this one. :lol

What an outstanding finish though my team lost.

Oh, and Jagr update... RT @BroadStBull: Jagr has leg injury. #WinterClassic #Flyers

And yea, the refs made some really shitty calls towards the end. Only one I didn't disagree with was calling Cally for embellishing and holding Timonen's stick.

Despite the NHL and referees doing everything they could to get Philly back into the game, they couldnt! ha, great win

Great experience today, even if the Flyers stopped playing 25 minutes early and let that bunch of pretty boy douchebags (opinion confirmed by 24/7) win. Got some awesome pictures, great memories with my dad, and our seats in 433 were fantastic.

As far as the officiating, please. Refs let a bunch go on both sides, and killed the Flyers with a quick whistle late in the 3rd, so it went both ways (as usual).

And the decision to start Bob over Bryz today was a bit puzzling. I get that Bryz has played poorly of late and I'm sure Lavie wanted to send a message, but those Rupp goals were weak as shit.

It wasn't even close to both ways. The officiating was down right horrendous the last few minutes of the game.

And they ignored a blatant crosscheck/boarding early in the period against NY, as well as a pretty reckless slash by Boyle, and Briere had the game tied if not for that quick whistle (had the puck in front of a wide open net 5 feet off the crease when the play was blown dead).

It was more like 70/30, but the largest concentrations of Rangers fans were in the lower level so I'm guessing they got picked up on the mics more. There weren't many Rangers fans around us at all.

Please do not act like the officiating down the stretch was not totally awful. The Flyers were given the benefit of the doubt on multiple crucial calls towards the end of the game. It was embarassing. I didn't care at all which team won but that officiating at the end of the game was pitiful at best.

Briere had the game tied if it wasn't for the whistle? :lol That was no where close to a sure thing.

It was embarrassing and even worse that it was in our favor. Just a joke. Call the game fair or go find another fucking job. I don't want to see that partial shit in my sports.

The replay they showed in the stadium had him facing the net with HL completely out of position and nothing between the puck and the goal line. Granted I didn't have the benefit of a million NBC replays, but it should have still been live.

At this point, it is what it is. The Flyers completely stopped playing after the 2nd and it cost them the win. Either way, the experience was awesome.

thought I saw Richie and Carter on the ice today with the lack of effort through the third period.

Lovely experience though. I'm not complaining about the day. Atmosphere was tremendous. If anyone finds a great video of the flyover, let me know. I'd be much in debt.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

The first Rupp goal was just a decent shot through a screen. Low and near the post. Not blaming Bob for that at all. Second one was awful and totally on Bob. I really think if Bryz was in though that the game would have been 2 or 3-0 Rangers about halfway into the game....

I knew the Flyers were going to lose as soon as Schenn scored. Danny Syret did the same thing (scored his first career goal) two years ago and the Flyers lost by one. That's how the Flyers roll in WCs. They get one of their guys to score their first NHL goal, then they give up a lead and lose by one. Classic Flyers being silly.

I like what Rupp said about the salute,

Rupp appeared on CBC between periods, and was asked about the salute with regard to Jagr. His answer? "Oh, that's his? I've been doing that since I was a kid."

That was the first and only time he's ever done it after scoring.

I like Ian Laperriere's tweet better: "Btw before you can salute like that you better score more then 51 career goal ... Just my opinion :)"
