Re: The NHL Thread
Another OT game winner from Backes, damn! He had one in game 1 against Chicago as well.

Re: The NHL Thread
Orpik suspended 3 games. Interesting.

Re: The NHL Thread
I agree with the three games. Late hit to the head. He should sit.

Re: The NHL Thread
Sharks remind me of 2012 Kings. Pavelski is on fire this post season.

Do not try and steal my tickets, Kev.
90 percent sure I'm good. Other half has agreed, all I need is to clear it with work and I should be good, which should be no problem because I pretty much run that place. |
Re: The NHL Thread
My computer sucks.
So do the Pens. |

Re: The NHL Thread
This doesn't look like your normal Sharks team. With Thornton now 102 years old, they better take advantage.

Remember the time the Leafs won the Lottery? It feels good to have the team I root for start to put something together. Exciting times all around!

I mean, just watch how precise the Sharks are as a team. Passes are crisp, breakouts are efficient, defensive zone coverage is almost always perfect, cycling in the offensive zone is dynamic and fluid. DeBoer has these guys believing in the system he has implemented and firing on all cylinders. That's what really makes a team dangerous, and this team looks dangerous. And sure, guys like Pavelski, Thornton, and Burns (yes, Burns) are playing VERY well, right now, but it's the team effort that really impresses me. With the exception of Pavs, who is OUT OF HIS MIND GOOD right now, not one guy or one line really sticks out as carrying the load. It's evenly distributed with every line pulling weight. I mean, you look down San Jose's depth chart, and they really shouldn't be as good as they are. But they're pulling it off, and they're doing it as a team. Really impressive stuff, and big kudos to DeBoer. In that same vein, all the things I described above can be attributed to a degree to Nashville as well, which is making this a really good series to watch for real hockey fans. I think San Jose maybe does it a little bit better, and that's why they've got the edge in the series. But props to Laviolette as well for what he's done with the Preds. Watching them work together in the defensive zone is a thing of beauty. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Reports have the Wings looking into Radulov. If it was based on talent alone, I'd be all for it but he's too much a douche. I don't want a guy like that around the many young guys coming along for the Wings. Don't need that in the locker room.
