It just wouldn't be normal if Philly wasn't involved in the talks

Re: The NHL Thread

The fact that it makes Zero sense for Miller to go to Philly means that's probably exactly where he'll end up. :lol

People will say he was on Sabres but didn't look great with the Blues either. This is why I get mad at the stupid Wings fans saying they should get him and (magically) drop Howard.

Perch1019 05-22-2014 05:26 PM

So Prust gets away with murdering Stepan, Carcillo gets called for bumping him and then thrown out? You have got to be kidding me. What bullshit.

Carcillo had an altercation with the official on the way to the box. That's a big no-no.

Open ice hit against a defenseless player away from the play though.... Can't really do that

I didn't see the hit on Stepan so I can't comment on it. I was only talking about the Carcillo incident.

Clearly late, clearly dirty. Roenick pointed out he didn't go for his head but I think Stepan saw him and kind of braced for it at the last second. Could have been a lot worse.
My point was the initial call on Carcillo was crap compared to them somehow missing the Prust hit. What he did to the official was no defendable. He's an idiot.

Re: The NHL Thread

Hope Carcillo enjoys watching the rest of this series. What an idiot. Looked like he actually took more than one shot at the ref with those little inside elbow jabs. Highly doubt he'll see the ice again this series -- although that might actually be a good thing for the Rangers.

So glad his time with the Kings was short-lived.

daveshookme 05-23-2014 08:21 AM

I can't defend what carcillo did but I do think a game ejection was harsh. The refs have to understand that if they don't miss that first hit by prust there is no fight.

Re: The NHL Thread

Just watched the highlights. Prust is a dirtbag. So glad he is not a Ranger anymore. Hope NY takes game four. Came close to putting this series out of reach last night anyway.

Re: The NHL Thread

I would have been OK with an on-ice Interference penalty for the initial Prust hit. No supplemental discipline.

The Carcillo stuff with the official REALLY bugs me, but that may just be because I'm biased being a ref myself. It's just something you don't do, no matter what.

Re: The NHL Thread

they did not do a good job on the broadcast of explaining what Carcillo did to get the game misconduct. i was at a bar watching without sound admittedly but i was really confused why he got tossed?

Perch1019 05-23-2014 10:30 AM

Stepan just got out of surgery for a broken jaw. Out indefinitely.
Fuck the officials. They have been so bad to every team. How do you miss that hit? It's not like the play was a mile away. How many of them are out there? No one saw that? Subban is out there slewfooting right in their face, no call. He's using his stick like a bat in the 3rd, no calls. The officials caused that whole situation with their incompetence.
Now one of the Rangers key players is most likely done.

Yep to all of this. It's been awful most of the playoffs but last night was over the top. Subban got away with like 5 definite calls

I don't think carcillo meant to elbow the ref. still not something you do, but it was clear it was all emotional. Just pissed a the clear interference that wasn't called.

seems like there is a rule where any violence involving an official results in a minimum of 10 games

NHL trying to swing this series in favor of the Habs. Not sure I believe that, but it sure looks that way. Pretty disgusted right now.

Any word yet on the result of the league reviewing prusts hit?

He should sit the rest if the series at least.

Yes, because not having Dan Carcillo is a real downer

I'm on board for this. If carcillo gets 10, prust should at least get the series.

Would be awesome if NYR win this in 6 or 7 and carcillo comes back in time for him to lose to LAK

I am no huge fan of the guy, but he has found the back of the net these playoffs. The real issue is that we lose Stepan, Brassard and Carcillo. That's a lot of positions to fill...
