Yeah boarding, didn't look bad in regular time. Boychuck almost looked like he was dry heaving though.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
nothing better than coming in here, seeing the B's score and refresh the browser with ESPN to show the Bruins score and winning.:bounce

Lucic is so good this year
|
This game is insane if we don't win this I'll be pissed, we've been pinning them in their zone for basically the whole 3rd.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Didn't see the game - were the Oilers that good, or the Avalance that bad? |

Interesting stat, speaking of defense: Erik Johnson was a +2... which shows how bad the rest of the defense was. However, let's give full credit where credit is due: The Oilers were playing like the team we've been expecting to see for the past couple seasons. Their team speed was off the charts and they were moving the puck creatively and with confidence. I was especially impressed with Ales Hemsky, who has kind of taken a back seat to all the youngsters in recent years. That guy has hands of pure platinum. The other thing the Oilers need to be proud of and build off is their killer instinct. They were up 3-0 in the first and allowed the Avs to get back into it. It was 4-2 to start the 3rd, a very manageable gap for the Avs offense to close in 20 minutes. But like I said, that killer instinct for the Oilers that we've been looking for FINALLY kicked in, and they scored 4 unanswered goals. Hopefully they can keep this going. :thumbsup ... Just not against the Avs, please. |

Now Helm is out again. Mother f***ker! Bert is back but...not quite an even trade on that one. Pavel hurry back!

I really was happy with the Seguin trade, I didn't know much about Eriksson and he sounded like an exciting player. He looked invisible last night though and I know it's still early but I think Chiarelli might've screwed up on this one.
The line he's on with Bergeron and Marchand has zero chemistry and the team is really missing Seguin's speed it looks like. Don't get me wrong I love Loui's willingness to go to the dirty areas and plant himself in front of the net. I also was not a Seguin fan after hearing some stories from my friends before the playoffs last year. Doubt is seeping in now that maybe the organization jumped the shark. Of course if we go deep in the playoffs again and Loui gets more then 1 goal I guess all is alright. |

Trading a 21-yr old former top-of-the-1st-rd pick who is really good and hasn't reached his prime for a good 28 yr old player who has past his prime is not usually a good idea. Was a terrible trade at the tim eand it looks wors enow.

Oh yeah trust me I haven't forgetton his one move of trying to deke through 3 players to enter the zone lol. Something just is off IMO, I was thinking of maybe switching Loui and Iggy but I really like the line Iggy is on now.

I guess I just had my hopes up for a more offensive threat in Loui. |

Yeah he's not past his prime. He's 28 and having a down year. It was time for Seguin to move on. Just seemed to be way too much crap going on around him. Dallas seems to be a good fit for him. On pace for a career high in points even after missing some games.

Yes Smith has been fantastic, I really like his play. I like it so much I'd like to see him and Loui switched. When Loui was hurt Smith looked good on the Bergeron line, and then fellow Swedes Loui and Soderberg could play together on the 3rd. Maybe that'd spark something in Eriksson?

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
wow, did someone say Loui was past his prime? So much dumb.
Loui is an underrated player because he was stuck on a terrible Dallas team. Other than Jamie Benn, Ericsson was their main threat. I wouldn't consider Ericsson a bust yet. Wasn't he hurt by John Scott earlier this season? Not to mention that the Bruins are a very solid team, it takes a little time to get chemistry down on teams like that. I'm in the school of thought that sees the Seguin trade as a neccessary evil. Seguin might not have had his breakout season with the Bruins this season because of where he was on the depth chart. He's certainly getting more ice time and a bigger load of responsibility in Dallas though. |
Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
Wow refs just made a terrible call against the Devils. Called Schneider for playing the puck out the trapezoid. He didn't. Now from where the ref was it prolly looked like he did but damn. Wings then score 5 seconds later to make it 3-1. Now Wings out shot the Devils 21-11 so not like Devils were great and might have lost anyways but still bad call at a bad time that put the game away.
|
Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
As a die hard Red Wings fan, that call on Schneider in the trapezoid was an unbelievably bad call. I almost feel dirty as a Detroit fan winning that game even though we already had the lead.
