2020 Tour Rumors

A little early, but time to get this thread going.

The Lumineers just announced that they will be playing Camden June 5 (Friday night) and SPAC June 6 (Saturday night). That eliminates both of those weekends for DMB unless they modify the shows down to one night.

There aren't going to one night at SPAC!

They better not! But yea, I agree, they definitely won't.

Also, they're playing the Woodlands May 15 so the whole 15-16 weekend is out for DMB texas.

Additionally, they'll be at Mansifeld June 12, so that likely eliminates mansfield/hartford dmb weekend from june 12-13.

Are we confirmed there will even be a 2020 tour?

The last 2 times there was not a tour (2011 and 2017), they announced it pretty early the year before to boost ticket sales for 2010 and 2016. It's safe to say there will be a 2020 tour at this point.

Confirmed? No, 99.9% likely? Yes.

Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

A decent amount of securing the same dates, especially for B2Bs this year:

Tejas TS
Camden
Mans/ford
SPAC
WPB
Fiddler's
Gorge (obviously)
NV/CA double (although second date @ dif venue)

Noblesville took Chicago's slot since Alpine took Noblesville.

That said, this is as much coincidence as planning. However, it seems DMB is smart about early planning for the entire tour, while bands like the Avetts secure a few places, but are constantly adding dates during their tours.

Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

It seems to me that Dave is being sincere regarding the good vibes the band is feeling and how they're hitting a stride.

Maybe we get lucky and get new music for 2020 as well. And I'm hoping more for NEW new music, not just leftovers...although I'd be down with another new/catalog mix like CT.

Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

I heard the band skipped Rogers last year because they'll now be on an every other year return to the AMP? Not sure if that's true but I thought I remembered hearing it.

I was just thinking that this could happen. I am more going to be pissed because I have been wanting to see the Lumineers for the last 3 years and haven't had a chance to go. If they overlap Dallas/Houston I'm going to be pissed.

Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

I personally am a bit worried Jones Beach will get cut next year. Weather was rough, they lost on ticket sales (mainly due to weather) but there were a decent amount of uppers still available before the first night. I wouldn't care if they played a different venue in the area (cough MSG or Nassau Coliseum), but I just don't want them to cut a show that is 15 min from me.

I hear you but Jones Beach this year is the first time in a long time I skipped a DMB show (twice) that was happening within 30 miles of me because i dislike the venue experience so much.

Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

Any chance they may finally be considering a modified run? More multi-night stays at major venues and cutting out some of the smaller shows to keep them fresh?

Either that or I would be totally down with them cutting down to say 15 shows but doing it more like the 2011 festival style events.

I think that is what they will transition to in the 2020s decade, as they get older. That's my prediction for how they modify touring.

May to September with 2-3 nights at: SPAC, Alpine, Noblesville, Camden, WPB, Englewood, Gorge, LA. More around 20-ish shows throughout those months. Could most certainly add a third night at places like Noblesville and SPAC to make up for lack of other dates.

However, I don't see them doing that yet. I think Buddy has given them new energy, they want to make new music right now, and they are in a good stride. I'd give it at least 3-5 years before they cut it down IMO.

Ask Izzy. I tend to doubt this though. From what I have heard and seen w/ contracts in the past this isn't generally how they are done.

I think you have the right idea, though the venue list would probably include at least a couple more venues on the East Coast.

Sounds right. It doesn’t make much sense to do it every other year.

yeah, you know, cuz they don't do something similar with ATX or anything... :rolleyes:monkey

Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

They really just need to play 2 shows in Alpharetta (Atlanta Market) and check off the South. Then their usual 2 night stands. Having gone to Pensacola and Nashville, those should have just be left off the schedule.

I'm getting way to old to handle 3 nights of shows at SPAC and partying downtown afterwards. 10 years ago it would have been ideal for them (and me). If it didn't happen then, it's not happening now.

Texas disagrees with you.
