Time Bomb

I love all of the songs on the album, but Time Bomb sticks out the most to me. Deep lyrics, and Dave kills it in the end. I think it will be one of the best live songs from the album.

I've seen this twice from you now, why? I think it's my favorite on the album. Now we're both deftone fans so this is confusing me?!?!?

This one would have benefited from being a lot longer. I don't really care about the track lengths as they seem to have packed a great deal of music into the other songs, but this song feels unnecessarily condensed. It feels rushed.

But to say least favorite?! I can understand that complaint but it flows just nicely and I love the middle and end chorus. I really don't understand the complaints about it, it's just rock and roll. Also the fucking chorus is one of the best he's written in a very very very long time.

*EDIT*

..and it just came on the iPOD.:)

great song on the album but did you know its eddie vedder not dave on the vocals.

although this is far-fetched, how unbelievably sick would a Dreamed I Killed God -> Time Bomb combo be?? i just creamed myself

Re: Time Bomb

lol i was just gonna say...this is my fave song on here..its like pearl jam (my 2nd favorite band) had a baby with DMB and made this beautiful child :hump

the first time i heard this, i almost laughed when i was hit so unexpectedly with dave doing his eddie vedder impression (which is phenomenal:thumbsup)

idk if its just me, but this reminds me alot of rhyme & reason

Re: Time Bomb

I don't think it necessarily makes sense for it to be longer....the lyrics fit the length/musical performance of the song perfectly in my opinion

I'm all for criticism, but I also sort of believe that for a group as good as this band and an album as clearly carefully crafted as this one, it's kind of like saying King Lear should have been longer, or Beethoven rushed part of one of his pieces....

Granted, there are differences between Shakespeare/Beethoven and DMB, but they're all artists, and I really believe in just letting them create and when they're not happy with what they've created, letting them perfect it on stage.

That said, this is definitely one of my favorites on this album.

I admit, it took me about half of a dozen listens to this song, now I love it. Something about it draws me to it like a fly to a bug zapper!

I think the drums are prefectly placed, like the vocal delivery, and the guitar parts...

Really like that post. Totally agree.

I really like Time bomb, however it needs to be longer. It should be killer live.:thumbsup

Re: Time Bomb

I think Time Bomb is way too short studio. That's my only complaint. If the boys can expand on this tune live, it'll be one of the classics. Mark (not Batson) my words.

totally agree...my biggest complaint is that there are no solos, but im hoping live that jeff will kill that beginning part, and maybe some jam in the middle or something

to me, best song on the album

i kinda see what you're saying, but i disagree, i dont think adding instrumental jams will tamper with the way the lyrics fit into the song

and even if it did, i'd still like it better with jams

I didn't hear the entire album, but I don't understand why people love this song so much... There is nothing special about it... I think people overate dave screaming. It's like: "Dave screamed!! Incredible Song!!".

From what I've heard, it's my least favorite too.

It has nothing to do with that at all. The fucking lyrics are great and the chorus is the best he's written in ten years.

The chorus is nothing like baby, what are you talking about?:ugh

Baby when I get home
I wanna believe in Jesus
You can hammer in the final nail
And lean me up against Jesus

That's the outro.

The chorus is the quiet "no one would believe it..." part.

Then what do you call it after the second verse?:ugh

I consider the noone parts as part of each verse. Just me I guess.

I actually completely agree. From the making-of scenes, this song was shaping up to be one of the longer, more complex, jam-filled songs and it seems to have been castrated in the final cuts.

With that said, I still really enjoy the song and am looking forward to hearing it live more than any of the other new songs.

I sometimes wish we never saw that "pace video". All it did was get out hopes up and, ultimately, a reason to rip Time Bomb.

An unjustified reason at that!

Does anyone else notice that Dave says "Relax" right before the song starts, during Carter's count off. The last 1:16 of Time Bomb is amazing. So heavy.

Yeah, I think Time Bomb is a great song in its own right. I just can't help but think it was shaping up to be something much larger and dominant but got blue balled in the studio.

I think it will melt faces live.

Time Bomb is so much freakin better live than it is in the studio. They really misfired on this one to me for the album, but I really love it live and look forward to hearing it as much as I do many of the classics right now!

Re: Time Bomb

this is in my bottom 3 from BWGK ...... All 5 times I have seen it live, it was in an encore (2 of which closed the show on back to back nights). I also don't like the time bomb intros to Two Step. All of these things have made me dislike the song (sadly). Maybe if it starts showing up elsewhere in the set I can appreciate it more.
