What't the consensus for why XM broadcast quality are all over the place?
N1 is pristine, N2 is a unfortunately pretty rough on the ears. I know it's an XM thing and not your end at all.

Is there like a master volume they use to broadcast these? Does it get turned up or down manually? You can hear the distortion in the low and high end like it's peaking, and that seems to be the main issue with the lesser quality sounding shows. Not so much the mix itself, but that it's distorting or fuzzy for some reason.

The shows that sound good are really top notch. So the lack of consistency is what is confusing.

thanx for the rips and remaster. just a question, i havent listened to night 2 yet to hear the quality issue everyone is speaking of, which bums me out cause id love a good sounding rip of night 2. my question is, if you attempted to remaster night 2, can it be cleaned up in remastering to sound better, or is it like trying to polish up a terd where the pull doesnt allow for it to even be remastered.
On a side note, i guess kinda the same question, but the show in charlottesville where bismark was debuted, can taper pulls like that be remastered also or do you need like a soundboard quality master to even try to attempt a remaster? i hope one day they decide to release that show as a live trax. i so want good recordings of bismark and death on the high seas, would really love a quality DOTHS with marselis guesting. does anyone remember that little video series dave did where he played come away on the piano? ive been able to find that on you tube and the quality is great, but he also did DOTHS in one of those videos and nobody seemed to grab it. ramblin...i know.

Luckily, N3 is much better than N2, in terms of audio quality. And it has some true gems, especially in the second part of the show.
The last song, Windows, was abruptly cut with the SXM outro announcement.

That’s was a brutal edit! LOL Dave said a final goodbye after Windows and then they could have faded out with crowd sound. Oh well. Small complaint.

Not to be a perfectionist, will you be attempting to record a different broadcast to get a complete recording of window and the ending?
Cause I can and will wait for it if ya do? Maybe just see if ya can grab that last song and splice it into what ya have . I'd be good with that too.
