I'm already not, don't need the 87th version of the same songs played the same way at the same point in their history with multiple options to get for free from YouTube of the same era. As far as I know Phish plays a lot of long jams with a lot of variation night to night, the chances of continuing to find new highlights with Phish past releases is greater than DMB. I'd like to see the LT series mix up DMB, D&T and Dave solo releases. |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
More D&T releases please.

Phish and DMB shows are vastly different as well which is why Red Light Management handles these 2 bands differently. I have been doing a deep dive into phish since the pandemic began and notice each week how vastly different the bands are as far as their live shows and jams. Phish have no commercial hits whereas DMB has a few that are intertwined with the 90s and early 2000's. DMB due to the hits have songs that have lyrics casual or non dmb fans know if they heard radio or watched mtv in the 90s whereas phish doesn't. If DMB was cranking out unique sets with no repeats from the previous night i think they would be managed more like phish. |

Despite being huge DMB fans, we never get particularly excited by Live Trax releases. We own probably 10 or so random ones (SPAC 96 is the only release that we attended), four of which were the freebies they gave away with orders in 2019. We did order the vinyl for 58 because of the set and era, but our favorite way to listen to DMB live is the be there and experience it live...just like everyone else. We will, however, still be listening to at least the studio albums until we shed this mortal coil. |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
Id prefer if they released actual concert video of the shows.
Im not going to get this latest live trax release and im not sure when the last Trax i actually bought was. But i would buy the latest Live Trax release if they made it available in video. Watching the show in Pro Shot from 2000 would be cool. I dont think we have enough concert video of the band at its biggest height, they had sold out Stadiums from 98-2001 and all we have to show for it basically is Folsom Field- and the production on it is brutal. I would also buy concert 4k video of more recent shows- Solo/ D&T/ or the band |

I also download all the sirius shows as well (and warm up videos, etc). Just something I've been doing for a long time and guessing that many do that as well....which is likely why they don't bother to dig deeper to engage. |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
On the other hand, I guess that in 98-2002 they weren’t filming/archiving every show, yet.
Outside of the big productions (LS1999, which is the best, Folsom2001 and Gorge 2002), the oldest live trax that has a DVD “from the archives” was 2003-07-30 (LT26), then 2004-07-27 (LT43). Probably their archive starts somewhere around 2003. |

Whenever they started streaming shows on the big screens at venues, I think they probably have full show video saved then. Maybe this goes all the way back to ‘99 or ‘98?? |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
Friday’s on Sirius, but I’d rather have and would willingly pay for video.
Hopefully someone’s in the couch tour and we’ll watch that instead. |

Columbus 11.6 - Great live stream
Finally, tonight, I can hear Jeff! Great performance on So Right Rip will be available later on tonight |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
Also, quite strange how they put mics in tonight show: not only the stream sounds much better, but also you can hear some stage banter, almost like an IEM. Carter’s mic, for example, is pretty clear.
Wait… Madman’s Eyes?? |

Noticed that too!! Hearing Carter laughing at Rashawn for playing an interpolation between songs was sweet. And new tune Madman’s Eyes sounded great. |

Where is everyone listening to the show? Sirius?

They have to be using IEM’s in some capacity, I think it was the count-off for Pig where it sounded like Carter was literally screaming in my ear lol. |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
We were all complaining about the shitty audio quality of the first shows of the tour. Well, tonight’s audio is gorgeous. If those shitty shows where mono, tonight is Superstereo. Not so far from a LT, except that they put Tim on the right channel. And the background voices of Buddy and Rashawn are so clear in the choruses. Even Sledgehammer feels enjoyable.
Awesome |
