However, i requested Shake Me Like a Monkey. And truth be told I don't even care if he plays it. I just hope the video gets to him somehow. It's my 5 year old daughters' favorite DMB song. She went through a pretty difficult cancer battle, diagnosed at 7 months old. We had a very very long road to travel. She's 4 years almost 5 in remission. But we are still dealing with complications from treatment. She was intubated for a few days. And every minute we had music on for her. Not just Dave but you know Beatles, Damien Rice, anything we pretty much liked and that would calm us all. Fuckin girl loves music now. She knows the lyrics to Sweet Chlld of Mine, Rich Girl, bunch of Beatles songs, and Shake Me Like a Monkey. Long story short, I sent some letters to the warehouse and had a few near misses meeting him in person. And all I want to do is just get him the message. Thank him for all his band and his music has done for myself, my wife, and our family through the years. Figured maybe the right person will see it and get it to him. We'll see. Anyways, I am going to go back to drinking now lol. |

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
The free SiriusXM offer in Canada ended on May 31. So unfortunately, can't listen to it here. Would appreciate if anyone with access can rip the show.

I was fortunate enough to go to Mexico for the event and it was beyond amazing!! It’s all about being there with the biggest fans and sharing stories. How can you replay the show at any time? I tried to search for it on Sirius with no luck |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
I'd love for someone to be able to teach me how to rip these shows myself. Been trying to do some research this morning with minimal success.

Rip was posted on Dreaming tree 30 minutes ago.
@sohanigt: There are many ways to rip audio depending on source. For something like SiriusXM, a very simple way can be to use an audio cable with standard audio jacks on either end. Put on end in a computer's speaker jack, the other in the microphone jack and you can record what's playing. You can also use a tool like OBS Studio to record the audio that's playing on your computer. This will produce a video file. You can then strip the audio from the video file and split it into tracks with a tool like Audacity. For YouTube videos, many sites will rip the audio off the videos for you, then you just need to split into tracks using Audacity. |

This channel shifted focus to Dave solo and D&T really quickly. I’m surprised they’re already playing so much Radio City.

For editing, I use Audacity. Free program. Then you break down the the large file by tracks. |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
Audacity is great. I use it all the time to produce my radio show.
Just be sure to split the tracks at the Zero crossing. If not, it can cause a clip at the beginning/ending of the track. To do this properly, select the edit point you want (ideally somewhere about 0.5-1 seconds before the song begins) and go to Select -> At Zero Crossings. The cursor will re-position slightly to the nearest 0-axis crossing point. Split the track there. It's a small detail, but it irks me when you can hear the track division even when playing a disc that was burned DAO. |
