Wow that is a beautiful arena! Looks like the seats are comfy, plenty of amenities and it does not appear there are many (if any) restricted view seats in the whole place. This should be a model for new arena's going FWD IMO.

This game is pretty exciting for pre-season - Mrazek looks solid but is giving up some juicy rebounds, I always love the way Abdelkader plays and wow is this Booth guy impressive they way he puts pucks on net - not sure why he has been mired in the KHL forever with that style of play - that said I am basing this solely on what I have seen of him in the past Hawks/Wings game and tonight's game.

Someone remind me why on earth the Hawks are wasting a million bucks a year on jurco? He is awful. Rutta, Forsling, Pokka, Kampf, and Forsberg have been very impressive so far. I like Franson's style but he shoots low probability shots (aka no screens or anything) fare too often for my tastes. I think Hayden gets the last O spot over Debrincat - who is damn good but not quite NHL ready (assuming Hinestroza starts on the opening day roster) - who I would rather have on my team than jurco. Oesterle is on the bubble for me, decent but nothing great because he is solid one minute and makes a dumb ass play the next - depending on Rozsival's availability he might be a decent 7th defenseman.

Fun game to watch so far and that arena is amazing!

Ben Street looks solid for Detroit too. What is going on with Athanasiou - a contract dispute where he is considering a year in the KHL now? That opens up a spot for Street or Booth IMO - if it happens.

Gotta think Eddie O is a 'happy human' tonight with the Hawks winning and his son scoring a goal in the first AHL pre-season game for Rockford. Get well soon Eddie - NO ONE wants to hear Milbury!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I cannot say I dislike him he is just sort of captain obvious during post game shows. Not sure how he would be as a play by play/color guy.

There is a great article on Vladimir Tarasenko on ESPN's NHL page though I tend to disagree that anyone who follows hockey would consider him under-rated.
