Sort of hockey related... Thinking my first 5K will be this September. The Red Wings are having one that goes along the Detroit River near JLA and the finish line is center ice and you get some free crap and can get autographs of players who are there that day. If you pay the larger registration fee you get 2 tickets to a Red Wings preseason game. Yeah it's preseason but the cost difference between the regular fee and the larger one is a lot less than you'd pay for a ticket, plus you get a couple extra things. I thought finishing at center ice would be bad ass. Also get tours of the dressing room and stuff.

Nice, way to go! Finishing at center ice is very cool :thumbsup

Lightning announced Todd Richards as a new assistant coach signing this morning. I'm a fan of the hire.

Over the last few days Stamkos has been saying how he wants to come back to Tampa so we'll see how things play out in the coming weeks.

It's waiting between the games that is the worst - also, I wonder if I can hear the Toronto media's heads explode from here when Phil lifts the cup and gets the Conn.

His local McDonald's franchise owner's head will explode because he knows what Kessel will be doing with any bonus money he gets

Might as well ask in here. I'm flying down to Pittsburgh Thursday for the game with my sister but We can't afford tix. Should I watch in a bar or outside at that projection screen?

Not many can! I certainly can't. I'm contemplating going down to the big screen myself. Outside by the big screen will be a wild party, and the weather is supposed to be very nice on Thursday. But you'll be in a big crowd and have to haul a chair there if you want to sit. Going to one of the many local establishments will be fun, too, I'm sure. I'd say it depends on the atmosphere you're looking for.

Regardless, safe travels and have fun!

It depends on what you're in the mood for. Like Drama said, you will need to bring a chair to watch the big screen. I can only imagine there being a massive sea of people outside Thursday night. Some of the over head shots from Game 2 showed the crowd stretching for almost an entire block.

Yeah I may bring a few chairs down, and even if I have to go buy one when I get in its cheaper than a ticket :lol

She's asking around work (she lives there) to try and find out where we could go but I kinda like the idea of celebrating with a mass group. I'm not a pens fan, but it'd be a cool experience.

A bar, for sure. The screen isnt all its cracked up to be. Bound to be a massive crowd and your view might not be great depending on when you get there.

Find a bar in the southside would be my best recommendation

Buford's Kitchen is the nicest place directly across the street from the arena. Other than can't go wrong with Carson Street. I'm sure it will be chaos if they win.

Yeah its nice, but im sure that will be impossible to get a seat.

South side will be a crazy party if they win it, and thats where everyone will go after the game.

if you want a comfy place to watch and be able to hear the action etc, watch in a bar

if you want to experience the game in a big crowd and be a part of the potential celebration, then do the big screen...you'll just have to deal with possible bad seat/view and won't be as comfy as drink service and tons of TVs at a bar

What part of the city are you staying in? I imagine the South Side is going to be crazy, but sometimes crazy can be fun. Just a note that I have heard that our constables won't you drink adult beverages outside in front of Mario's TV.

See what part of town she is in. Does she live near downtown or is she out in a suburb?

I really want to hit a bar for it, but we've been watching all the playoff games at my buddy's so I cant break that now. We will probably head down to SS right after if they win though, he lives right over by Brashear HS.
