Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
Forever missed. :Leroi
On the AM tribute, around 16 min there's an interpolation. It sounds like a sped-up version of 'the first noel.' Am I hearing something else, or is this really the case? |
Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
I wasn't sure I wanted to drop this here, but I was wondering if anyone had that black and white picture of Dave, Carter, Stefan, and Boyd standing in what looks like an attic holding a saxophone. That picture is very powerful for me in remembrance of Roi, I'd like to have that to hold onto. :leroi

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
I miss Roi's voice so much on sax. While Jeff is obviously so talented and great, Roi had that sweet distinct tone to his playing, like another voice. So unique.

I listened to studio Proudest Monkey earlier this evening. LeRoi, you are amazing on that tune. What a perfect way to end an incredible album. Thank you for music.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
I was just listening to Lillywhite Bartender. Had they finished that, it would have been their best and a definitive studio track, largely because of Roi. That solo is bone-chilling :leroi

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
I think about you alot, Mr. Moore. I've been listening to Crazy Easy off the newest WH Disk and your sax play gives me goosebumps! Your style is so honest and unparalleled. All I can do is consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to attend the over 50 dmb shows I have seen over the years and cherish the memories of watching your emotions flow seamlessly through your notes played. I also consider myself blessed to have been lucky enough to be introduced to you after the 9/11/05 Red Rocks show which will forever be my favorite show of all time. Thsnkyou Meredith Ashworth, girlfriend of JR (Carters bus driver) for being so friendly and welcomming to me and my best friend. Introducing us to Leroi was the greatest gift imaginable and I'm so happy I have the photo to prove it! Rest well, Leroi. You were a pleasure to meet and you will always be missed!

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
a poem i wrote awhile back
long live the groogrux king the groogrux king, himself, would sing, why i am is to forever bring a jazzed up, blissful outlook on such things that many see as strife, but man, did he ring out on that saxophone, bass and alto alike, he brought forth such emotion as his wind-riffs did ignite, the most stellar combination of love and happiness tonight. he lives on forever, as we lie in our graves, dreaming and wondering of better things, better ways to use our days, you gave your soul through sax in whole, long live the groogrux king, we know how sweet you roll. |
Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
For the Gorge show in 2008 me and my friends wore remembrance shirts for Leroi. I have a couple pair of earrings with the same design devoted to this historic man at https://www.etsy.com/listing/1103720...ref=v1_other_2
We remember you forever MOORE! |

In 2009, I named my new guinea pig LeRoi.. He passed away this morning. Death is a very difficult thing for me to handle, but knowing that the deceased had lived good lives always offers me some solace.
R.I.P. LeRoi, the saxophone king.. and LeRoi, my little guinea pig friend.. You'll both be missed. |
Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
Missed the anniversary of his death this year... got caught up in my own shit... failed to give my thanks and appreciating to the man who's soulful playing has sustained me for many years.
So here's to you my brother. I drink my drink for you with love Roi. |
Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
Listening to LT 18, Jimi (one of my favorites) and good lord Roi just rips it a new one.
:leroi:leroi:leroi Giving me chills as I listen to it now.. Highly recommend checking it out again! |
Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.
God I miss the sound Roi brought to DMB... reminded every time there is a old show playing. I like Jeff, but DMB does not sound the same!!!

Check this out! We just received 3 autographed pieces from DMB. These are so cool!!! In celebration of the upcoming DMB shows Rhyme & Reason will be giving these guitars and drum head with certificates of authenticity away at some of our up coming shows. 1 of the guitars is signed by LeRoi. We will keep everyone posted on when and where these give aways will happen!!! Check out all the pics in Rhyme & Reasons photo album on facebook!
