Was looking at the advanced stats for Kuz and McDavid. McDavid is better. Maybe by a lot. Kuz is still really good though but he'd need himself and a few grittys to be as good as McDavid.

Word to you and mrs.MikeD! Will no doubt be a solid add to your already stacked roster.

Thanks, pretty stoked. Gonna need a bigger house soon.
Matt, work ever take you to Calgary anymore? I’ve been there every few weeks lately and probably will stay like that for awhile.

The so-called juggernaut in Toronto just found out what itís like to play a real team on a good night

Leafs not even close to the same levels as the Penguins yet. Or the Caps for that matter

Pens made a statement tonight

Flyers are awful, and this is making hockey terrible for me.

Indeed. Hopefully this is where Murr turned it back around.

Murray was playoff good tonight

Donít think I heard Auston Matthews name called once, completely shutdown

The Letang-Dumoulin pairing is scary good

They're unwatchable. They have to score five goals just to have a shot at winning. It's terrible.

The Bruins don't feel like theyre 4-2-1.

Does anyone in this thread feel like theyre team is playing well?

That was a really good game last night despite it essentially being a 1-0 finish.

Murray played great, good confidence builder for the whole squad for this road trip.

I actually think the Rangers are playing well for what they are. I am sure Leafs fans are pretty happy too. Troy, where you at :lol

I started a new job about 18 months ago, so I never get up there anymore. Bummed we were never able to make it work. :shrug

I try to look at it in terms of player development and overall team growth, not so much at the record (which will come with patience and a good system and vision). In that sense, I'm very pleased with the Avs. Rantanen, especially. Guy packed on some pounds and it's really showing. I mean, I know it's an ENG, but check out what he did to Butcher on the Devils last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0YeMeXXqgY

Last season, Rants probably would've gotten knocked off the puck in that scenario. Now, he's embarrassing guys. There was also a play in that game where Rantanen knocked over two guys behind the net before dishing the puck out to Landy for a goal. Loving him. Currently leading the league in assists with 11.

There are still issues (forward depth in particular), but things to be excited about for the Avs:
* 32 combined points in 7 games for the Rantanen-Mac-Landeskog
* Johnson, Girard, Zadorov, and Cole are legit
* Varlamov and Grubauer have both been strong. I have a feeling Grubauer would be even better with more starts, but that's difficult with the way Varly is playing.
* Lots of talent in the pipeline (which could include Jack Hughes if the Sens can really suck)

I could do this exactly for the Bruins but filled with negatives:
*36 combined points for the Marchand-Bargeron-Pasternak line (however, this is where almost all of the scoring comes from. We need our other lines to pick up some slack.
*Some fo the young guys are really starting to prove themselves, but need to be better at this point.
*Tuukka has not been strong at all, he really hasnt seen the puck well this year. Halak is great, but he's not Halak of younger years.
*The pipeline of talent for the Bruisn is thining as they are filling in the starting roster, but they havent caught up tot eh pace of the NHL yet. It'll come, but some guys defintley should be further along.

Alright pals, a little Friday conversation. Everyone's participation required.

In an effort to get our perspectives balanced regarding our teams, let's each list three things we DO like about our teams, and three we DON'T like.

I'll start:

Like:
1. Rantanen-Mac-Landeskog chemistry is picking up where it left off last season
2. Defensemen are starting to settle into their roles. Bednar no longer has to overuse guys in situations where they are not suited
3. Strong goaltending tandem leaves us prepared this year and for the future

Dislike:
1. Still have a tendency to get caught in our own zone. When we do, we start chasing. It's chaos.
2. Secondary scoring is not great. Mikko Rantanen has as many assists by himself as the entire second line has points.
3. If Grubauer truly is our goalie of the future, he needs to see more starts. However, I get that we're only 7 games in.

I feel like I pissed of the teacher :lol

Like:
1. Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak are continuing to put up points. Continuing to be the #1 line in hockey.
2. Although not putting up the points, the young guns have me excited.
3. The team has enough offense to win games, just need to shore up defense.

Dislike:
1. Tuukka has not played well one bit.
2. Young defensemen need to get stronger and play the puck better.
3. I fear Cassidy may actually be worse than Clode at developing young talent.
