Do I expect this to continue? Of course not. It will however make the 5 game losing streak in Jan/Feb much more tolerable.

Enjoy it! You and other Oiler's fans certainly deserve it. I do cheer a bit for them when I can, in fact in my collection I own 4 jersey's that are not Hawks or Whalers - one is a #99 Oiler's, one is a #99 Kings, one is an old no number CCCP jersey and the last is a Kane WCOH one from this year.

just cause they were talking about it during the pregame... should the Flyers trade Neuvy/Mason? with each one becoming FA this upcoming offseason might be a good time to deal one of them. Honestly, I don't have a clue if it would be a good idea or not. I wouldn't even know which one to trade... probably Neuvy I guess.

Before tonight's game, Weber and Subban were tied in points. Weber was a +8, Subban a -4.

Still can't believe the rest of the world thinks Nashville won that trade.

Ugh - Hawks PK is awful AGAIN giving up 2 more. That is now 14 goals they have given up on the PK during the first 7 games - averaging 2 PP goals against them per game. How is this even possible? They come back to force OT and then lose a shootout (to the awful Flames no less) after 7 shootout denials Versteeg won it. They need to get this in gear! Starting to become an annoying pattern!

Seeing as Flyers should sneak in as the 6-8 seed they should keep both for sure. I think that's a decent rotation and they play off each other fairly well. Seems like when one is off the other comes in and picks up the slack for a stretch. Don't see either being moved and more importantly don't see a good enough return for either to warrant a trade.

Now if Flyers are cellar dwellers come trade deadline that's different story...

Still early but the stars and scrubs LU the Hawks have put together thus far hasn't been the sharpest by any stretch. Q and the vets seem to figure things out though come April/May

Crosby returned to practice. I had a long debate with my buddy the other day, but at what point does he hang up the skates? He is undoubtedly one of the best in the game and has a solid resume so far, but at what point does he think about his life after hockey and how he's risking that now?

It's a serious issue and one I think Crosby needs to serious address the pros and cons. He'll have more time off the ice to live than on, he needs to reevaluate IMO

They did in the long term. No doubt. Also, the Habs are not for real. I believe they will fall off hard this year.

Yeah, I know they will figure it out in time. This is growing pains (admittedly bad ones) that comes from adding so many new faces, seeing which line combo's gel together, putting PK units together, etc, etc. Just frustrating to watch right now but I know it will get better.

Then of course near the deadline we will probably add someone who doesn't know the system and can't integrate! :lol

This is a fair question. He eats, sleeps, breathes and shits hockey. That's all he knows and does. He's been playing some of his best hockey ever the past couple years. He's not yet 30. He's otherwise very healthy. He hasn't had a concussion since 2011-2012, and the symptoms seemed to go away fairly quickly this time. I don't think he hangs it up for awhile unless the concussions become even more of a recurring issue.

It's scary how fast it can get bad. Johan Franzen couldn't even play with his kids because being outside in the daylight was tough.

As much as I cannot stand the penguins I genuinely hope he is OK and goes back to being the star he is. We may cheer for different teams (and hate different teams) but I think we are both just plain hockey fans who want to see the best of the best work their magic.

Sketchy off season sport for an NHLer
Andrew Ference rides a bunch here in Edmonton, I've ridden in a couple of road events he's been in, though much slower, he's a fast dude

So Andersen really is blowing so far this year huh? Arizona, Buffalo and TO all still blow too. Minny, EDM and VAN have all been a surprise to me.

Yeah last I saw the score was 3-0 or whatever. When I saw the final this morning, I was shocked.

Gotta talk about my team again. Won 5 in a row for the first time since Jan 2015. Hopefully that's a good sign. Also I like that the team is standing up for each other a lot more. For the longest time if a guy was hit they'd stay away completely. Lately they aren't backing down and I like it a lot. There is a fine line, because you don't want to hurt your team by going down a man but Green was hit from behind along the boards and they didn't stand for that. Ott being on the ice helps a little.

I don't even think he's at top speed yet. That was rusty Sid last night.

That being said, they need to tighten up defensively. There was some sloppy play on our own blue line last night. Another fun game to witness though.

he didn't look rusty at all

was the best player on the ice all night

WC of Hockey may have injured him but it kept him in midseason form at least

Rangers really wanted me to watch the World Series tonight apparently. Gave up the first goal right off the opening faceoff and then I just flipped back to see Hank give up a soft goal. Back to the World Series I guess....
