Olli Jokinen to Nashville.
Looks like James Neal got his Jason Spezza... ;) |
Re: The NHL Thread
Well, the east got even less relevant this off season. NY has taken huge losses. Can't wait for 10 years from now...might be the next time the east can realistic believe they have a chance at the cup. Hate the west officially.

If Bowman trades Versteeg he should already win GM of the year, and I think he can do it to a team trying to get to the floor.

I used to have this rather portly friend who, when eating meals with us, would inevitably resort to making the rounds, asking everyone, "are you going to eat that?" Didn't matter what it was, if they were discarding, he was accepting.
Islanders as they try to reach the cap floor? |

Here it is if you want to read it.
http://twokidsandagoat.wordpress.com...ings-miss-out/ I got interrupted a lot so sorry if some of it might seem disjointed. |
Re: The NHL Thread
ERIK (if you're still alive), you are the proud fan of a team that now employs the great John Scott!

Or you could be San Jose and be getting John Scott. That'll get them to the Cup.

@fearthefin: Do the Kings get a trophy for breaking Doug Wilson's brain to go along with their Stanley Cup?

Re: The NHL Thread
Nice job, Isles:
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun now Isles sign Kulemin 4 yrs/$16.75 M and Grabovski 4 yrs / $20 M |
Re: The NHL Thread
So much for the dream Euro line of Hornquivst - Malkin - Kulemin.
No way were the Pens gonna pay Kulemin over $4 million for 4 years. Guess that's what happens though when you're the Isles scraping the cap floor. |

When will the flyers dump Lecavelier...

I have no fucking clue what Doug Wilson is doing. A very frustrating time to be a Sharks fan. |

Tim, how would you feel about taking Oduya off our hands, and what would you think Detroit could give in return?

Re: The NHL Thread
Looking back at the Lacavalier signing from a year ago and the only one who was huge on him was Roose from my initial backread (I'm bored, stop judging me). He was the one who thought Vinny could have 70 points

Re: The NHL Thread
So my brother texted me the news around 4:30. I was quite surprised. Needless to say, I was not expecting anything like this coming down today.
I am both excited for the talent upgrade yet frustrated that our overpay netted us these 2 guys. We spent all this money and this is what we got. But I can't be mad because I've been wanting them to overpay to bring some talent in and when they do it, it's not all it could be. So I'm happy and will stay that way. Beggars can't be choosers. We are still way below the cap and it is only money. I mean, if our young studs become studs, when it is time to get paid, these 2 today will be gone and the cap space will be there. I saw a stat today that there are 119 active players who have scored 29 goals in an NHL season. And today we signed 2 of them. So glass is half full, right. Grabovski can be lazy and take dumb penalties but he is a talent. Kulemin is more a 3rd liner but I'm assuming they will play together on the 2nd line and moves Frans Nielson to the 3rd line C. Which puts Strome and Nelson where? On the wing? What puzzles me is that we now have too many forwards and a glut of centers. It is quite obvious that a package trade for a defenseman is coming. And I'm fine with that as long as it is the right one and it is not for someone like Phaneuf. And it makes me nervous Garth putting some young studs in a package for possibly the wrong player. Yes, we overpaid but we brought in NHL talent and are a better than yesterday. So I am happy and curious as to what the next move is. |
