To be fair, I think most of their offensive woes were primarily due to CAN unrelenting pressure, zone time, and forecheck.

Yeah it was mostly Canada but I still feel they could have played better. It didn't seem like they tried to do much different when clearly there game plan didn't work.

To the first question: yes, I only watch hockey, curling and some of the skiing at this point. Don't really care about the other sports. So my disappointment in the winter games is based on those sports.

To the second question from Tim: yeah, the gutted feeling four years ago really hurt my interest level in the Olympics, add that on with the Rangers playoff loss to the Devils a few years back with another strike and my fandom for hockey has diminished a bit. I have not gone to a game in two years and I only watch Rangers games if I literally have nothing else going on.

I do still score check a lot and read articles though.

Totally true. Weber has the shot, but like I said before, Doughty was Canada's best rearguard tonight. He was awesome to watch.

He has been since the Olympics started to be honest.

Jesus Price that was fun to watch.

Canada dominated most of the game but still to have it 1-0 in the final moments...phew!

Latvia outscored the US against Canada. :lol (;))

1. I'll start off with saying this. The USA was never close in my opinion. Canada hockey is still light years ahead of our country.

2. This was a very boering game in my opinion. I never really thought we were going to score.

the USA was very close, they got outplayed for most of the game but they also had numerous scoring chances...canada is not lightyears ahead, those were the 2 best teams in the tourney and the US was only marginally worse

and if you think that game was boring...well...i don't know what to say, maybe hockey isn't your thing? speed, skill, intensity and action were all on display today. incredible game IMO

Don't care where one hails from, that was NOT a boring game.

Meant a Canadian team....and you knew that.

As to the above....I grew up playing hockey, been playing since I was 5 years old. Worked at a rink for over ten years. And I have been to almost every NHL and AHL arena on the east cost and some on the west......saying maybe hockey is not my thing is just dumb.

Saying maybe this format of hockey is not my thing might be more accurate.

I love world Jrs because the games are more highly flying and scoring.

i just don't know how you can say that game was boring? so if kane's wrap around goes in, or kunitz's rebound chance goes in it's somehow more exciting because the score is higher?

i can't buy that, it's about scoring chances and NOT goals. there were plenty of chances even with tight D being played. and it doesn't get much more high flying, the speed on display today was incredible

You're an Islanders fan and we were never going to get along. Got it.

But to really answer your question. No and yes. No because I mentioned that I am totally into world Jrs and last I checked we have not won that the past few years. But all of those games are entertaining and have more scoring.

Yes, because I am at a point in my life where sports are not the most important thing to me anymore. Future, jobs, school, starting a family and providing have far out weighed my interest in sports recently. So yeah, for me to really invest my time and money at this point I do want to see results. Doesn't mean I like my teams any less, just means they need to be performing for me to take as much time to watch.

Also, I do want to step back a bit. Obviously I was bitter about the loss. But I know it was not a boring game. Just a disappoint from a goal scoring standpoint. Losses are easier for me to handle when I at least had some hope (in the form of a goal) at some point.

But Canada played great, as frustrated as I am to keep losing to them, congrats on winning again. ......And best of luck against Sweden!!
