Gay. As in, the Flyers are gay.

Someone had it in their predictions on here. One of the 'Hawks fans.

That would be my in-depth look at the series.

Because the only winners in this town are make believe! :lol

Now for some predictions that will likely be wrong.

Eastern Conference

Rangers v. Senators

The Rangers seemed to sputter a bit down the stretch, almost losing ground to the Penguins. However, the Senators have been worse. While an eight seed has beaten a one seed in years past (President's Trophy forever, right Capitals?!), the Senators won't do it here. Rangers in 5.

Bruins v. Capitals

An intriguing series. What Capitals team will show up? The team that got so hot down the stretch they earned the 7 seed, or the craptacular team from mid-season? The Great Eight is heating up at the right time, but likely not enough to carry the team past the defending Stanley Cup champs in a 7-game series. Bruins in 6.

Panthers v. Devils

The Devils lucked out with the six-seed, facing the champs of the putrid Southeast Division Panthers of Florida. Or are they lucky? The Devils should take this series handily, but shouldn't fall asleep against the Panthers. Devils in 5.

Penguins v. Flyers - Commonwealth Cold War

The series everyone is talking about. Ugh. I hesitate to even think about what will actually transpire during this series. Yes, the Flyers seem to have the Pens figured out and are far from rattled by their talent. But over a brutal 7-game series, the cream should rise to the top. Though these teams seem very evenly matched, the Pens have greater scoring depth and stronger goaltending. Laviolette may second-guess his decision to start Bryzgalov despite Bobrovsky's stellar record against Pittsburgh. Pens in a bloody, battered 7.

Western Conference

Predators v. Red Wings

The Predators are a plucky team, but Detroit, though banged up, has the experience. A very intriguing matchup for sure. I'll go with experience and say Red Wings in 6.

Blues v. Sharks

The Blues turned many heads this year, led by Jack Adams frontrunner Ken Hitchcock. Will their solid defense and goaltending hold up in the playoffs? Despite their history of choking at some point, the Sharks are usually good for a series or two. Another intriguing matchup. Blues to continue their strong performance and take this series in 6.

Coyotes v. Blackhawks

Once again, the Yotes are happy to be in the playoffs. The Hawks have had their ups and downs this season, but will be more than happy to welcome back Captain Jonathan Toewes from a lengthy absence due to a concussion. Pens fans more than sympathize. That return should energize the Hawks. Hawks in 5.

Canucks v. Kings

The Sedins and the Canucks are as strong as ever, but the Kings' goalie Jonathan Quick seems poised to challenge King Heinrik for the Vezina trophy. A hot goalie has stolen many a series (Halak!), but the Canucks should power by the Kings. Canucks in 5.

Move this team! Sucks for the fans of the team that are there but after 3 years you can't get a guy who wants to buy the team without some crazy stipulations. You've got a fan base, ownership, now sponsorship and a new arena in 3 years in Quebec City. Yeah you'll play in a crap building for 3 years but come on. A full crap building for 3 years is nothing considering they've played in a half empty arena for 3 years.

The fact that they only have Chicago and Philly only having four wins, not to mention Washington with eight wins, seems a little unrealistic.

Good news for me is Darren Helm expects to be back by game 2. He seems to thrive at this time of year.

Hey guys,

Posting in these forums over the years about many sports has lead me to decide to create a sports blog. I will update 2-3 times each week with new articles about sports. I am starting here because my first sports related blog will be about the Stanley Cup Playoffs starting this week.

If you have any ideas on something you would like me to write about please comment on the blog or here!

Check it out at http://aeroshady.blogspot.com/

Also, looking forward to tomorrow night. Pens Philly is getting me really excited to watch playoff hockey!!

Yeah I think there is one Leafs fan and one Oilers fan and that's it for our Canadian friends I think.

No offense but I'll be rooting for the Sens just cause Paul MacLean used to be an assistant here in Detroit.
