Edit: Bolts-Jackets in the Bubble was another good marathon

I dont know how I would have reacted if the Flyers would have lost that game. 5 OTs not withstanding, but to play that long and then lose to the Penguins would have been an extra kick to the nuts

Big sad. I stayed up. I’m useless at work rn

Re: The NHL Thread

Longest I remember watching all the way through was the Mighty Ducks vs Starts back in '03. I think that was also a 5OT if I remember. I have been to a 2OT Devils v Lightning and that felt long to be at. I am not sure if I would have stayed last night if I was there. Would definitely be depending on what was going on at work at this point in my life. ESPN starting games at 8pm is not a good move. Especially on work nights.

Re: The NHL Thread

Last night, Pens-Flyers' 5OT clash in '00 and the Bolts-Jackets 5OT battle in the Bubble are the longest games I've watched

I picked up the Lightning and Blue Jackets in the third period and still saw almost two full games of hockey :lol

Edit: The Sharks and Stars in game 7 went to 4OT in 2009? 2010? That was a long one, too

Edit2: The longest previous game in Panthers' history was game four of the '96 finals when Colorado won the series on a weak-ass floater from Uwe Krupp

Re: The NHL Thread

One other thing I'll say, having watched all of ^ these games, is holy crap the guys are so well conditioned in this era. Pens-Flyers, those guys looked exhausted by the third OT.

Only as we started to approach the end of the 4th OT did I feel like we saw some of the players last night starting to get a little slowed or sluggish. They were still throwing big checks right up to the end, almost 140 minutes deep.

Rangers/Caps was also 3 OT I think.

Made it through OT 3 last night. Bailed after that. It was like 1:10 AM or whatever. The winner reminded me a bit of the Primeau winner from 2000. Similar shots/angles.

Go Flyers!

Still think there should be a shootout after the 2nd or 3rd overtime. I didn't think some of the OTs were good hockey. Turned 7 game series into possibly and 8+ game series.:lol

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I’m very anti penalties (and shootouts) in playoffs. It’s the worst thing about the World Cup.

Stars tie it

Another 4OT barnburner! Let’s do it! Lol

Tkachuk again. Ruthless.

Three OT goals for Tkachuk in one postseason. And half of Florida’s wins this postseason have been in OT. Amazing.

Re: The NHL Thread

Are the Panthers gonna win the whole thing? Came back against Boston. Bulldozed the Leafs. Outlasting the Canes. They seem quite formidable.

I hope they didn't drink anything stronger than water last night.

The Heiskenan-Pavelski-Robertson line is so potent but the Stars are allergic to OT. Expect a big W in Dallas on Tuesday.

So far, and things could change, could be a Vegas/Florida final. No idea who I would pick honestly.

Brutal matchups for the NHL. I like the Panthers and Canes and still have not cared enough to watch more than a few minutes :lol.

Panthers-Canes has been really good so far, as the 4OT thriller would indicate

I haven't had a chance to catch as much of Vegas-Dallas

Two pretty ugly games to be perfectly honest. Glad to come out on the winning side, but this series is faaarrrr from over.

I haven’t been watching because of the 8/830 starts.
