SPAC for me.

50/50 on Alpine, like 25% chance on Moline.

I just haven't been into anything DMB has done for years. Last time I saw them was Alpine 2013, and haven't done multiple stops since 2012. It all depends on setlists. We'll see what the tour looks like before I invest any money into DMB again.

Kinda evolved into that though. I use this site almost exclusively to talk about hockey. I love it.

Fun fact: Brooks Orpik has played 798 career games. Last night was his first GWG.

One might even call that a crazy stat

Same here. I don't really use it for much else.

Honestly, if it weren't for this thread, I probably would have stopped posting years ago.

Congrats to Jagr for moving ahead of Hull on the all time goals list.

Thank you Boston for smacking down the Stars last night. Wish Edmonton could have upset CO though.

Down to business today for the Hawks, big game against Minnesota outside in about 45 minutes, Not a must win by any means but it would be nice to capitalize on the stars loss last night and end the mini win streak the Wild has begun since they dumped Yeo.

There's a reason Hjalmarsson is one of my favorite players in the league, and his work on that opening play is it.

Trying to prevent the extra point at this juncture of the game.

I know they are good for the league but these gimmick games do no favors to good teams. Truthfully I worried this one was a trap because the same thing happened to Chicago last season in their outdoor game against the Caps. Sucks but whatever, Minnesota is garbage anyhow - they will be lucky to make the playoffs let alone advance past the first round or two.

Del Zotto injury huge loss for Flyers. Hope this doesn't prevent Hextall from trying to move Streit.

He's the best, isn't he? Love watching him work in the defensive zone.

I kind of thought it might turn out this way. After the White House visit in 2010 and 2013 I'm pretty sure they had an off game, and outdoor games are always a little goofy.

Would have loved a closer game, but it was still fun. I love that Stadium Series games are toned down on the ridiculousness.

Today is one week from the trade deadline, which is possibly the second best time of the season. Excited to see what moves teams will make. Hands down the 2 most actives teams from each division will be the Panthers and the Stars. Both teams I believe will make the most/biggest deals of the period this week. The most active contending teams behind them, in no particular order: Caps, Kings, Rangers, Ducks, Hawks. From the teams that aren't contending I think the Flyers, Hurricanes, Jackets, Senators, Canucks, Flames, Jets will all make moves of some sorts.

Couple things I think will happen for sure:

Yotes will move Boedker and/or Doan
Maple Leafs will make 3 moves
Stars will make the biggest splash
Rangers and their recent found success will find blue line depth
Drouin finds a home with Penguins or Preds
Hartnell/Erikkson will be a Hawk. Ladd & Versteeg will not be down for a reunion

Those are all the hot takes I have for now

I read that the game yesterday was close to 2k short of a sell out. That's disappointing. I figured , of all places, Minnesota, especially vs the Hawks, would sell out.

So I guess the new chic move for hockey writers is to call Capitals fans "lazy" if they talk of curses and past failures, and are therefore hesitant to think that this season will turn into anything other than a much too early exit. Word. Guess I'm the laziest fuck on the planet.

Good win for the Rangers last night!

Also, this year will officially be the most embarrassing for the Caps if they don't win the cup. After the season they have had, cup or bust for that team.

Well it would have to round 2. Unless the Rags tank to a wild card which is not likely I would say. I feel very confident round 2 will feature Rangers/Caps.

That's assuming of course the Caps don't blow it in round one. Gonna feel awesome when it's Pittsburgh that does the deed this time.

If they can get to the finals it's not a bust. But it's gotta be at least a finals appearance or else yes, massive embarrassment.

Yeah, pairing Keith with Hjalmarsson is great, Keith gets more involved in the offensive end and Hjalmarsson just seeming does everything right on D from blocking shots to cutting down shooting and passing lanes. Guessing Rozi is getting a suspension so pairing Seabrook and TVR will be a damn solid second pair with Svedberg and whoever takes Rozi's place will be a decent third grouping.

Yeah, they are fun but the outdoor game has become sort of old hat to me. Wish they'd change it up and make the outcome not count against the teams actual ranking though, just give a handful out each year and call them a 'scrimmage' for lack of a better term.

Yea it only got like 50k in ticket sales, which would be the lowest outdoor game of any football stadium. The baseball stadiums were lower in attendance but were able to sell out. Which most likely means any outdoor games going forward will all be at baseball stadiums or stadiums with a max capacity of 40-45k

Edit: Interested to see how the Avs/Wings game with do next week at coors field. Coors has a capacity of 50k

I don't think the Coyotes will move Doan unless a killer opportunity presents itself and they ask him first. He's stated before that he's not interested in leaving, even if it's to a contender. He's said it's about family and keeping things stable in that area, and that he's prepared to finish his career in Arizona. I'd have a hard time thinking the Yotes won't honor that unless, again, some crazy offer comes up and they basically get his permission to proceed.
