Anyway, they just announced Stevie Y, and it compelled me to rewatch one of my all time favorite non-Blackhawk playoff moments (even if it is Detroit):

love it. Second game is much better so far than the first. Most of these guys are the not as old players. Loved seeing the Russian 5 photo-op and they started the game with the honorary Russian, Doug Brown, taking Vladdie's spot on D.

Also, congrats to Jimmy Howard on making team USA. How do you feel about that Tim?

Well he kinda backed his way in. Anderson having a bad year, Schneider has been good but as pointed out in one article hasn't been able to take the job in NJ. Bishop has been good but I think Howie's getting it because he's had more consistent success. Not a very good year so far this year, some of that to do with injuries but was fantastic last year and the couple years before that. Good for him but he'll be the 3rd guy so barring injury be surprised if he backs up one game.

Nice analysis. Bishop is close (has the edge if youre comparing this years stats) but I think you're right as to why Howard got in over him.

Love the Yzerman, Dino and Shanny line. Would love to have the 96 versions of them on the ice together.

I dunno if it was shown on NBC/CBC but on Fox Sports Detroit Stevie Y gave his stick to a girl sitting right over the dugout and she absolutely broke down crying. What a moment for her and nice move by the captain.

Also loved seeing Jiri Fischer out there again. With all the success the Wings have had over the last 20 years or so there are still two big what if's and that's Vladdie and Jiri. Both cut down in their prime.

So awesome that Mark Howe played and his pops was a coach. One of the greatest highlights of my writing career was meeting and chatting with both of them during intermission of a game last season. Both incredibly nice people. I'm in the middle of reading Mark's book which is just fantastic.

Ugh, this game can be so frustrating. Sharks dominated the first but trail 1-0. Ducks goal was a fluke bounce off a weak point shot, we appeared to score on the PP as time ran out, but time had indeed run out.

back to back come from behind wins for Isles. Just finished watching the game this morning as I avoided the score all last night. Isles making the annual mid-season push back towards respectability??? Getting Nabby back has helped. Getting Vis back would really help, too.

Okposo has really come on strong and sure hope he makes team USA today. Will be disappointed if he does not.

yep, they are out for pregame skate now. I imagine they won't drop the puck til like 1:20.

Weather is nuts. Should be fun. Hope it is like this at Yankee Stadium next month, up until game starts. Awesome atmosphere.

That we can agree on. Have hated the Leafs since our '02 nasty series vs. them. Only conflict is Bernier is my goalie in fantasy hockey. Hate when fantasy interrupts real life.

Watching the NBC broadcast, it feels lie the center ice cameraman is having a hard time adjusting to the increased distance from the rink. It's very jerky, he doesn't seem to know how much the camera needs to move as he pans.
