But when you are that fit it means something is really wrong. That shouldn't happen to him at that age and level of fitness. But yeah all heart attacks are bad.

Wow, scary as hell and I wish him all the best. This one hits home a bit more than a normal injury for me. I went through a very similar cardiac event when I was 30 years old, then completely out of the blue and I just collapsed and next thing I knew I was in an ambulance - a saga that I still deal with. I was in great shape still playing sports, running, etc, etc so it was a complete shock. I am still in good shape at 42 and I am active but despite being OK for these years, seeing a cardiologist twice a year who says I am fine but despite the fact that I know the stats are on my side every time I exert myself (whether it is sports or chores or whatever) there is this tiny little warning bell in the back of my head I cannot ignore. Good luck Jay, get well soon!

I know someone who had a heart attack that maybe 10-15 years ago he wouldn't have survived.

I hope you don’t think that’s the bar for being a Dr or heart specialist...

What exactly is your point? If a fit person or a young person has a heart attack it's not like they just need to lose weight and eat better. It usually means they have something wrong with themselves that could be a serious ongoing health problem. It just shouldn't happen to an elite athlete.

Re: The NHL Thread

Your point was that it was very serious because Bouwmeester was an elite athlete. The actual point we're making is that it's serious for anyone in any shape or form, Doc.

Nice to see "old" Kassian come back out last night. It's not like the Oilers are already stretched thin at forward. I wouldn't care if the league sat him down for the rest of the season, but knowing the NHL he'll probably just get a fine.

Why isn’t the NHL partnering with Bieber to grow the sport?

Hate on his music all you want be can bring new viewers and help grow the sport

Re: The NHL Thread

Bieber is an ok skater, definately played some hockey growing up but probably not much competitive hockey. House leagues when he was younger if they are even called that in Canada.

he's really regressed back into dumb fuck territory after putting up some decent numbers for awhile.

Did you grow up playing hockey? I can probably skate backwards faster than you can skate forwards.:)
