Wilson officially listed as day to day, by the way

So between Oshie, Kuznetsov, and now Wilson, that’ll be at least 23 man games lost due to concussions, and the net gain for the Caps has been seven minutes in power plays. No suspensions given to any of the hitters.

Good thing the league cares about concussions and player safety.

I was thinking about this last night as well - but more along of the lines that people are ok with it and not condoning but laughing at the goon. Reaves was legitimately targeting Wilson all game and then concusses him and no supplemental discipline

He's not good and it just there to be "an enforcer" which in this age of hockey is an irrelevant space of a roster spot

We have literally no idea what Wilson was laughing about once he got back to the bench. It looks to me like he’s reacting to something a teammate said while on the bench with him. Either way he definitely didn’t laugh at anyone on the ice, which Reaves also did on Tuesday. In addition to joking about hurting players with reporters afterwards.

I am not going to sit here and act like Wilson isnt a pos. The dude actively goes around trying to hurt people. Wilson is a guy that has never shown an ounce of remorse for what he does. The Caps organization continues to paint him as some kind of martyr. His teammates enable what he does by whining about his suspensions acting like the league is out the get him. Reaves hit looked a lot like his hit in game 1 on Marchessault last year. Wilsons comments: “I haven’t obviously slowed it down and looked at it but I think he’d probably say he shouldn’t have admired his pass and I’m just finishing my check,” Wilson said.

Outside of the lion nonsense, pretty much the same thing. Just a couple of clowns talking shit.

Fair enough. I do think that Wilson is a far more impactful player than Reaves, but I see your point.

I also think Wilson got the message this time with the suspension this season.

This, Wison is a better player. If he toned down the aggressiveness of his play he might be a truly special player as he continues to ascend, that said if he does tone it down there is no guarantees ne stays as effective so that is sort of an unknown quantity to me. Reaves is not anywhere near as skilled as Wilson, Reaves hits and screens whereas Wilson is a playmaker as well.

Ryan Reaves did an autograph session for a sports memorabilia company in Las Vegas where he signed and captioned photos of Tom Wilson laying on the ice, which the company then sold for profit. That’s actually a thing that happened.

Wow, that is a huge double standard and one of the most fucked up things I have ever even heard of in ANY sport. If Wilson had done something that devoid of class he'd probably be given a jail sentence rather than a suspension.

On the plus side for you Caps fans - Duncan Keith absolutely levelled Reaves in the first period, completely clean hit that forced Reaves face first into the boards and he had to leave the ice. About the only thing I have had to cheer about tonight - well, in the past say two weeks to be honest because I think that was the last time the Hawks actually had a lead in a game! :lol

I don’t mean to talk about Wilson excessively. Hes just been the big story for my team seemingly every night lately, plus I really do think the Reaves autograph thing is really weird and surprising.

Rantanen’s been awesome, Matty. We should definitely talk more about him.

Itr is sick and disgusting is what it is. I cannot think of a player in the NHL who would do something like that. After all the great PR Vegas had last year you'd think someone would have advised against that sickening photo signing shit. Probert, Kocur, Domi, etc, etc (aka all the old school goons) would not have pulled that shit. Oh, and the bastard is back on the ice midway through the second.

Rantanen - not sure what kind of superlatives are even left to describe him, he is just plain amazing though I'd give MacKinnon the edge for a Hart at this point. I know it is early and he plays on the best line in the NHL but damn is he a great player!
