wow, are you guys hearing about the OHL team, Flint Firebirds? Yesterday, they fired their coaches, Gruden and Karpa, for the second time this season. The OHL, today, has taken over the team and the team owner and the coaching staffed is barred.

I've never seen such a cluster fuck. Clearly the OHL thought things weren't quite right either. I wish this team was still in Plymouth.

Is this the team that the coach has a son or something on the team?

yeah, team had a walk out after they fired their coaches the first time. Today no one showed up for the morning skate besides the owner's son, and he left right away or something.

Cannot believe what a mess that idiot owner made out the the club over his son's time on ice. I imagine the Red Wings are not thrilled with this nonsense either because they have (and had) some promising prospects playing up there.

Yeah. I'm guessing the big one, Saarijarvi, will be in Grand Rapids next year. It was such a well run organization when Karmanos had them in Plymouth.

Yeah, that would be my guess as hell. He is more than welcome to join the Chicago farm system if he wants. :lol

Probably tossed in a trunk or something. I did get a laugh that they gave him a jersey with Anisimov's number on it considering his frequent disagreements with Putin. :)

:lol You know it's the number of the year they won it, I hope.

Oh, I know that, Chicago is a pretty classy organization - they would not pull some political stunt or prank on the President. Still though I did get a good chuckle when I saw it was Anisimov's number. :)

Hey guys, hope everyone is enjoying the season. Jackets still have outside shot at the playoffs, pretty excited. even if they don't make it my 2nd favorite team this year, the caps, are killing it.

Matty, i probably won't see your answer but i assume you loved Johansen for Seth Jones?

Does anyone want my Johansen sweater? it's the thrid jersey, mint condition except for some stains left from tears.

get in touch with AJF if you want it, ill take the best offer.

Hey, good to see you here again! You've been sorely missed.

The Jones/Johansen trade was just a good, simple hockey trade. Nice to see one of those. It addressed needs for both teams, and not just for rental-type guys. I love that.

In the short term, Nashville has the most to gain with Johansen. He's potentially that pivot the team has ALWAYS needed. Would love to see him pan out there.

But long term, the Jackets have made a VERY wise investment. Seth Jones is taking the Hedman route to NHL stardom (3-ish years), but once he really hits his stride, look out. The kid is potentially the next Rob Blake. And if Murray can find his groove, they could easily be the best pairing in the league in a couple seasons.

Pens are hot at home right now

and the score wasn't a good indication of the actual game. it was back and forth for most of the game

Anyone see the Maurice meltdown last night? Kind of think he was justified, the Stralman hit on Little looked dirty to me, I'm really surprised there was no penalty called. Stralman says he couldn't have pulled up, but to me it really looks like he powered through.

i applaud Maurice because he was completely right and justified

Yeah, I guess meltdown wasn't the right word. And I agree that he was completely justified. The refs are a joke. The way that St. Laurent smiles right before he drops the puck just doesn't sit right with me, and apparently didn't with the Jets either. I hope Stralman has a chat with DOPS soon.

Wings gave up too many quality chances for my liking. They have a few injuries on D but need to pull their heads out of their asses. They got lucky last night though with Boston losing in regulation and even though TBL won, they had to do it in a SO so that could end up helping later. Big game against OTT on Saturday for the Wings. Gotta snap out of it.

i have tons of respect for NHL refs 99% of the time, but man, that was bad...

Yeah, I didn't mean that the refs are a joke in general. Just that the two last night, St. Laurent in particular, were.
