coincidentially, this coincided with Michael Leighton's only career shutout because all the players died of an apparent gas attack.

If that would have been on tv: "Thacker making his way to the bench and appears to be in pain. Oh he's going right past the bench and running to the locker room. Something must be very wrong."

Apparently was down to one in the East and one in the West. Any idea who the team in the East might have been? Just curious.

I have a story on Flyers goalie prospect Anthony Stolarz done. Waiting to know if the newspaper wants it before I post it on the blog.

Chris's man-crush Derek Roy also going to Nashville. A bunch of guys who seemed unwanted going to the Preds. So their usual... Always worked under Trotz. We'll see if it continues.

:lol Luckily there was a garbage can on the bench. I will not lie, I spewed into that thing like there was no tomorrow. My new teammates - none of whom I'd ever met before that night - did not get a great initial first impression. Surprisingly enough, I still play with most of those guys today, almost 10 years later.

This might turn out to be one of the more under-the-radar pickups of the offseason if Ribeiro can get himself figured out. Talent-wise, he's an incredible puck distributer with sick mitts and great on-ice vision. IF he can figure himself out and get back to form, he and Neal could seriously be an incredible tandem coming out of nowhere.

Roy's been pretty lost since he left Buffalo. Hopefully he can get back on top with Nashville. I'm noticing a trend here...

Do we know what went down in Phoenix for them to cut him?

Flyers have been relatively quiet this offseason and I'm actually happy about that. Hextall is handcuffed and isn't doing anything to make it worse.

Missing team meetings, late for buses, supposedly had drug/alcohol problems...etc.

Yes. The drug issues seemed to be the real kicker.

Hell, it's July and why not talk lines...

Flyers
B. Schenn-Giroux-Voracek
Umberger-Lecavalier-Simmonds
Raffl-Couturier-Read
Rinaldo-Laughton-Akeson

Gives the Flyers a nice balanced four lines. Really hope their fourth line looks like that.

Drug thing could lead to the other things, so that makes sense, and can see why they'd want to dump that. Not the kind of stuff they want around there. Hope he if it's a real problem he gets help too.

I saw an interview with Mickey Ribs this morning on TSN and he blamed the bad year on his separation from his wife and not seeing his kids for the whole year. He said he couldn't wait for the year to end to get this fixed.

Probably better than saying, "I love cocaine but now not as much"

:lol amazing. Good boy.

I'm actually at O'Hare right now flying back to SLC. Wish I could've been here longer so I could buy you and the others a drink. Got in about midnight last night, worked today, and now heading back. Next time!

Hope you're not flying on UA. We've been delaying everything the past couple days.

It was delta. Weather was perfect there, would've liked to stay a little longer. I did grab a bite to eat at that Blackhawks restaurant at the airport. Way cool.

Stanley's?! I've unfortunately never been, it's over in the Delta/US Airways terminal. I saw it recently as I was running to catch a US Airways flight, but didn't have a chance to eat there. Any good?
