Tonight at the draft was actually a ton of fun. Recommend anyone going if they can/if it's in your city.

No way would Hawks draft this kid. Toews would have a melt down within five minutes.

which is why I am not surprised we were the ones that took him. Garth is that kind of risk taker.

He's just a kid and the Islanders had talks with him and, yeah, its a risk if he continues to be this cocky or outspoken or brash, etc but the kid has talent.

If he grows up and matures and figures it out, it could be the steal of the draft. I'm fine with it.

Just read this article about him as I try to learn more about the "future all star winger" :cool

http://www.torontosun.com/2014/06/24...joshua-ho-sang

This line from the article is intriguing

Three years ago, on a gifted Marlies GTHL team, the only difference between Ho-Sang and Connor McDavid was — Ho-Sang was the more electric player. You couldn’t take your eyes off him.

:lol My co-worker. She's been a Mike Richards fan since day one and has kind of morphed into a Kings fan since he was traded there. So she's kind of like you. Has two teams. She flipped out and cried last night when she met Sutter and got a pic. Haha.

I wish I wouldn't have moved to the Richmond area, I so would have been there both days. Did either of you guys get to see the Cup? My friend posted a picture of himself touching the cup in a Flyers jersey, kind of a violation IMO

Read a lot of pens people arent happy with the Neal trade, i actually like it a lot. Hornqvist seems like a playoff kinda guy that the pens have missed.

Definite violation there. I have pics of all of the trophies, including the Cup. Didn't touch any of them. Didn't even get real close to the Cup actually.

Pierre Turgeon's son was drafted. Makes me feel old.

bonzo48280 06-28-2014 08:36 AM

THE HAWKS JUST TRADED BOLLIG TO CALGARY.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

bonzo48280 06-28-2014 08:36 AM

Bollig and Handzus gone morin and smith signed to extensions. Is this real life?

JRS1386 06-28-2014 08:41 AM

Re: The NHL Thread

Don't worry, come November you will be bitching about something doing with Morrin and Smith

bonzo48280 06-28-2014 08:45 AM

Absolutely not. Those guys are real hockey players. Bollig is not.

rustysurf83 06-28-2014 08:55 AM

Re: The NHL Thread

Taking Zus and Bollig away from Q will prove to be the best moves of the offseason. Hawks immediately become Cup favorites.

bonzo48280 06-28-2014 08:57 AM

@DimFilipovic: Going from Handzus/Bollig to Morin/Teuvo is a p.significant upgrade, and a scary thought considering all of the other guys in that lineup.

Sens had deal in place to send Spezza to Nashville but he wouldn't waive his NTC. Preds wanting to contend.

I laughed today when I saw this on Twitter, thinking of you guys in here. What are our Hawks fans going to do come playoff time when they can't bitch about Bollig's ice time? ;)

Yeah man... a whole bunch got drafted. Kids from Lemieux, Nylander, Audette, Donato, MacInnis... who am I missing?

Pretty happy with todays developments....while Bollig was fine in the regular season he was absolutely worthless in the playoffs.

Money wise I guess, although they've paid him more than half what he's owed already, but what about the floor?

fonzz41 06-29-2014 08:18 AM

Re: The NHL Thread

Yeah, the whole getting to the cap floor thing is what puzzles me about this.

On that note, typical lulz from Proteau:
@Proteautype: To get Buffalo to the salary cap floor, Sam Reinhart's bonus structure will be unique: $7 million after 4 games played, $1 million per goal.
